Who do I gotta blow to get those queue times? My Ivalice queues were each 40 min or more, and I was on tank lol
After just right now queueing/doing both Ridorana Lighthouse and Puppet's bunker, I got them both in under 30 minutes (15ish for Ridorana). This is a Tuesday night in Japan on a Japanese server. No idea if that's average, but if it is then it's 100% working as intended.
Agreed;
@OP: You have a lot of good suggestions- the easiest is get a group of friends together and just raid it hard a couple of times unsync'd. Should be a fun night!
And I appreciate your words : )
I mean, it really just boils down to having realistic expectations of when other people are playing.
If you want faster times, just queue when your server is active. Basically that servers “after dinner before bed” time slot and NOT like, a Tuesday afternoon while most people are at work/school or 4 am Wednesday.
You will also have more luck closer to when the daily reset is, or the weekly wondrous tales/challenge log reset.

Or, you can also say it boils down to the true end game (glam) requires some effort. It's just a difference kind of effort.
Glam farm is still a battle when the content is relevant. Sure, the queue may be faster, but you also have to deal with weekly lock out, more competition, and the fight generally take longer. And in case of Ivalice, it was a LOT longer, there is a reason a lot of people depart Ivalice and never want to look back (me included), that place hold ... bad memories.
So if you luck suck, you can theoretically spend the same amount of real time getting something you want from it, be it now or back then.
While true, you do also have options.Or, you can also say it boils down to the true end game (glam) requires some effort. It's just a difference kind of effort.

My point was to remove as many variables as possible.
Long queues? Try to run at peak hours.
Competitive for drops? Low man it unsync’d with friends. Need not even finish the full raid.
You can remove many variables and leave it to straight RNG.

Tanks have a disadvantage on alliance raids as the party composition is different to other content. In 8 player content you have 2 tanks, 2 healers and 4 dps, in alliance raids you have 1 tank, 2 healers and 5 dps. This is why alliance raid has dps in need so often compared to other roulettes.
