I love how all this forum is are people submitting occasionally useful ideas (a token pity system for araid drops) and then the dev team doesn't even read them and 80% of the replies are fanboys pretending the op's grievance isn't really an issue because some awful alternative option exists that doesn't address the main issue (that raid? run it 12 times with 3 people instead of 24! disregard the fact that the rng issue is still a factor, problemo solved! need a house? move to materia! plenty of homes there. problem solved. feel like your job's dumbed down? just play another game! problem solved!), or some armchair SE-exec will step in to write you a five paragraph essay about why it's "just not possible" to implement something every other game has done 10 years ago, even though he literally knows as much about the inner workings of this game as anyone else posting here, until eventually the thread gets derailed and becomes about something else entirely.

Honestly a simple one way suggestion box would be more useful at this point. This place blows.

The suggestion to run it lots of times with 3 people is not disregarding that it's a problem, nor it is saying that there shouldn't be some sort of token system. It's just suggesting a practical solution that increases the chance of looting something by reducing the competition, while also increasing the speed if you can kill the enemies fast enough yet.

If they were only suggesting a token system, that would be fair enough. But the OP also said "24 is a lot more than 8 and I struggle finding 8 people a lot of the time", suggesting they didn't know it could be unsynced with 3 people and that's why those answers came up.

Honestly a simple one way suggestion box would be more useful at this point. This place blows.
I think SE wants ideas to be scrutinized on the forums. What is an idea if SE can't see how that idea would be received by people?

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

There is a difference between "scrutiny" and fanboys defending a game's faults which would be pointed out by people without a personal investment.

Considering most pity systems require like 50 to 100 runs before a guaranteed exchange (See EX mounts; Rathalos), I'm just not sure there are THAT many people running a specific raid that many times for a single specific item.

That said, it's not a bad idea to allow something like 10x of a raid coin to get any one specific item the raid drops.

It just really boils down to "is that worth taking dev time away from other projects, or are people likely to get the item they want anyway after 10ish runs?"

Your idea of a one way suggestion box would blow even harder because there would be no way for anyone on the outside to gauge the interest in one idea or another. It would all be hidden in a database somewhere, tracking how many people have submitted an idea. It's a crude and poor way to process feedback. Never mind the fact that someone has to look at each and every comment.

The reasoning behind most of my responses to things like this is more to do with the amount of time it will actually take for the individual with a problem to actually have this idea see the light of day. Ideas need to be properly formed here or where ever and show a reasonable amount of support before they even get considered by the team. Some things are easier to get through to the team than others.

In the case of getting a piece of loot from an alliance raid or dungeon, the intent is for the players to run this content multiple times. You're not here to run something once or twice and be on your way. You don't have to work there to know this is truth. It's how these games have operated for decades.

So, it could be months before a change can be considered and then implemented. If you want to sit and wait, that's up to you. You can also do what everyone else in every game does and just go for what you want. It will drop at some point.

By the way, the biggest obstacle to feedback is not the alleged fanboys or so-called echo chamber, but the people that can't handle any kind of real discussion on a topic, as well as those that post the most ridiculous threads pushing good ideas further away from the front page. I remember discussing ways to get loot from places we've cleared. I was in favor of it if it's at least an expansion behind, but then that keeps people out of that content. There's less incentive to run it.
