I wanted to pass along a word from Yoshida on the continuing discussion on the changes to spell casting.
Thanks for all the feedback regarding spell casting. We have been thoroughly looking over every bit of feedback received, so we will be looking into making changes in patch 1.22 and beyond for the current version, as well as final specs for 2.0.
Once the adjustment details are finalized for 1.22 I will post a follow-up.

i.e. '/pessimistmode on' After a month, topic will fall off main forum page, 1.22 will be delay by 1 month+, and we will still be stuck where we are currently. A divided crowd of players who favor and those that don't, with the dev's\CM's not touching this subject as the Director/Producer is a fan of PvP and wants this decision to stick only for PvP purposes. Thanks for all the feedback regarding spell casting. To paraphrase what Yoshida-san, himself, has said: You will catch more flies with honey than vinegar.i.e. '/pessimistmode on' After a month, topic will fall off main forum page, 1.22 will be delay by 1 month+, and we will still be stuck where we are currently. You must be rather young or inexperienced. Feel free to believe that, but there will come a day when they stop listening, because they will realize that people like you do not appreciate their hard work. One can tell Yoshida-san is slowly getting to that point.
But feel free to continue being a jerk, and we'll see how well that works out for you long-term.![]()

Moving while casting is the ONE thing that XIV had, that I really enjoyed.
In it's current state move-stop casting is made even worse by your characters
feet-shuffle upon stop. Your character has stopped moving forward - but has not stopped moving.
Your game mechanics are poor to support move-stop casting.
Furthermore, now the ranged casters have a double penalty.
You must stop to regen MP, AND stop to cast - and no, Bard is not always available to bridge this gap.
Put move casting back in, because the only thing you've accomplished with stop-cast
is more deaths, and gave Casters a double-penalty.
