Please read the thread. Failing that (wouldn't blame you), at least read this, particularly the second-to-last link. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post5788370

Please read the thread. Failing that (wouldn't blame you), at least read this, particularly the second-to-last link. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post5788370The problem is, maybe they do not know where the problem is. If it would be a general problem with the game then everybody would have it. I guess, they will test the client with various hardware and software combinations. But when all their tests do not trigger the issue then it is hard to find out where the problem is.
My recommendation in this case is: reinstall your OS and install GPU drivers, chipset drivers if you are using an AMD chipset and NIC drivers only. No "motherboard tools" or "mouse drivers" to change you LED color and no "tuning" or "cleanup" tools ala CCleaner. And no third party antivirus programs. Leave Windows as it is.
Cheers

So Elliah, you have my support for these ideas, if you need anything translated from/to Japanese, I can try to help too.I've been thinking about what we can do for a while. I have a plan - but I need some people to help me out.
--------------
1.) I want to make a survey about the audio issues community members can fill out. I'd use google surveys for that. It would include a few questions, specs, tests, and a way to link to their results, their previous bug report, forum posts etc. This would allow for a lot of data to be neatly compiled in a very short amount of time. It would also centralize all the data, and give Square a good idea of what range of issues are experiences on what hardware, and what exactly is happening in each individual case. It would actually be two surveys. One in english and one in japanese.
--------------
2.) I would like to make a collective community bug report, using said data, both here on the english forums and on the jp forums. This bug report would summarize everything and be posted as a collective community bug report, using the survey's data.
--------------
3.) I would like to send a letter to a few key people - Masayoshi Soken (Primals Member, Sound Director), Yoshi P, Michael Christopher Koji Fox (Primals member and english-japanese translator), whoever is behind /u/embodygoblin, and maybe 1 or 2 ff14 streamers and/or gameing journalists. The letters would inform the people in a respectful way about the issues, and link them the survey with the data, as well as key findings and a timeline of things.
-------------
I'm going to join your discord. Can you help me out with any of that?
If you join discord, we could even create a discord server with more people to discuss that matters.
Or we could get in touch by e-mail or other method you prefer that.
Again, my discord is minopoki#6195 , if you don't know how to use it, just install the software, create a profile for you, and search for an option "Add a friend" to message me.
Anyway, I have other ideas to try to call SE attention to this, but I'll leave to a second post.

SE won't care about us as we are low value customers. No matter how much you end up begging them to get this resolved. Have some self respect and move on. It's alright. There are many games that are worth your time. ^^
So, SE made the following social media posts, announcing the patch.
I say we could post replies complaining of the audio issue (I already did), in both English and Japanese pages. If many people post their complains there, we could hope it to make some difference.
Just be polite, and don't spam (one post per person should fine).
In English:
https://twitter.com/FF_XIV_EN/status...09267778068480
https://www.facebook.com/FinalFantas...59542325615871
In Japanese:
https://twitter.com/FF_XIV_JP/status...38171481919491
https://www.facebook.com/finalfantas...30883863666290
(for facebook, might have to change page region to Japan if post doesn't show)
For the Japanese pages, I think it's ok to post it in English, or you could try using an auto translation (like this one) before posting, it doesn't matter that text sounds strange, they'll understand.
Or, if want to tell them something very specific, you could send to me and I could try to translate it.
Also, as we earlier discussed, it might be more effective to post bug reports to the Japanese forum instead of the English forums.
I'll come up for a way for people to do it, even if not understanding Japanese, and I'll post about it later.

Unfortunately it's not even listed in the known issues in the 6.05 patch notes
no words to describe my disappointment with this game

trying to spam this issue away by flooding it with hundreds of thousands of posts will only see the issue ignored. Perhaps you haven't noticed that this particular director doesn't buckle under floods. So Elliah, you have my support for these ideas, if you need anything translated from/to Japanese, I can try to help too.

Nor should he.
A investigation should be commenced of all audio output, mainly aimed at all new sound effects and combos effects introduced in this latest expansion.
Furthermore all sound affected by this new paid plug-in and all changes made to all sound channels need also be investigated.
What I have suggested alone will take the team 3 months to finish. They also have other duties introducing new parts of the latest expansion. They have to work along-side, and surpass the updates that will be coming for the story.
This isn't an excuse, rather than an explanation as to what is going on and their thoughts going forward. They will not be delaying the new expansion pack story to fix this, it all has to be done along side and past it.
Therefore it would behoove all involved to try to fix or mitigate the issues the best they can on their end until the source is corrected. I.E. overclocking your AMD processor, enabling virtual ram on separate drives other than the one running FFXIV, Making sure you aren't watching or streaming anything while playing.
for me on a msi 960 board; AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50 GHz, I get it to stop stuttering when I overclock via msi command center as follows... (ratio) 21.5/ (base clock) 201.00 with fans running at 95%
that brings it to 4.1 - 4.5 ghz it will fluctuate if on a msi board to demand.

While I agree that it takes time to fix issues, and there's a finite amount of resources to go around and all that, I have two issues. First, it's now been over a month since the sound issues started, with very little recognition. There were and are login issues, lobby errors, etc., and those were all handled well, with the team saying they were working on them and were compensating players due to the game being unplayable for so many. The sound issues, which have existed for just as long, took over a week to acknowledge they even existed, and all we were given was a few lines at the end of another announcement. What I have suggested alone will take the team 3 months to finish. They also have other duties introducing new parts of the latest expansion. They have to work along-side, and surpass the updates that will be coming for the story.

Second, and this ties closely into the first point, it doesn't take that much time or effort to put out some kind of statement saying the issue is being worked on. If there was a lodestone announcement, or a tweet from the official FFXIV account, or something at all saying they were aware of the audio issues and were looking into them and doing their best to fix it and we just needed to be patient, I personally wouldn't be nearly as hopeless about this as I am. But currently the entirety of the response to the sound issues is a Notice from December 9th that was updated on December 20th (over two weeks ago) saying "The issues we had announced before Dec. 9, 2021, have been addressed in Patch 6.01." The 6.01 patch notes list the audio issue as "Resolved", even though that patch introduced audio stuttering to people that didn't have it before. And then, when patch 6.05 came out, there is no listing of any kind of audio issues in the "Known Issues" section. This heavily implies that Square-Enix has considered the issue to be fixed, and is no longer working on it.
While I won't claim to speak for everyone on the forums or that's having issues with the sound, I think that a lot of people that are pushing hard not to get the audio stuttering actually fixed, but just to have it acknowledged. Why should anyone be willing to wait 3 months for a potential fix if the company they're waiting for a fix from said the issue was resolved, doesn't list it as a known issue, and remains oddly silent on it when asked? As I said, I can understand them not having a fix ready by now. What I don't understand is why, when so many people are asking if it's actually still being worked on, they won't answer.
i can say with fair certainty when they "acknowledged" sound issues, it was more toward people having no sound/losing sound entirely. i.e. fringe cases. i dont think they had or have any intention on fixing this. i'd like to know anecdotally who here has a confirmed case of having this issue and not having an outdated system past 5 years?
Well like i post my specs 1 or 2 sides befor i have problems and just my graphic gard would be outdatet i guess. I got a ryzen 5 and an msi amd motherboard. And for me direct x9 run clear on sound while in dirext x11 alrdy the start screen is lagging in sound.
