I ran the benchmark for standard laptop and I scored 7436. No audio popping.

Well, this worked for me.

The guy indicated that the device box was "completely blank", so I checked and it was, which is... odd. Idk why, but this problem started today for me, after cleaning my PC. It might have something to do with hardware detection (connecting headsets after a complete system restart, full power unplug and all)
Hope this help to someone.
Unfortunately for me, mine already had default as the output/input in that settings window. I did try flipping it to Realtek like in your picture, but when I tabbed into the game again, the sound was completely gone.
I switched it back to the default it was originally on and the sound returned. The stuttering still does happen randomly and I am able to confirm it is definitely based on camera position/angle as to whether it will do it or not.

Since the release of the expansion, I've been dealing with an issue where I would lose all audio for around 5 seconds occasionally when I switched jobs, called a mount, or opened the map. Before the release of the expansion, I would sometimes have a delay changing jobs or for the graphics for my mount displaying, but this was purely cosmetic and did not cause any audio issues. I had assumed this was an issue on SE's end for the longest time, but since I was losing audio, it occurred to me that it might actually have been on my end all along. I have since solved the issue. While it used to occur once every 1-2 hours, I have since played 12 hours without it occurring once.
The game has always been installed on my SSD, however, the My Documents folder has been located on an HDD. When doing the above-mentioned activities, it appears FFXIV accesses its respective folder in My Documents, and the delay was caused by the slow drive. It is strange to me that a delay in accessing these files would cause the audio to drop entirely. I moved My Documents to my SSD, and the issue has never recurred.
Another issue I've seen since the expansion is that sometimes FFXIV will drop connection with my controller for a split second, during which the audio stutters. It seems the new audio engine is very fragile and prone to dropping out for the slightest reasons. For the record, I've tried multiple USB ports and none of my other USB devices ever have issues, nor have I had an issue with the controller outside of FFXIV after 6.0.
In addition to all of this, I've been having the normal audio popping as well, made worse since 6.01. Nothing I try on my end has any effect on it. I'm using an Intel Core i7 920.
Gave this a try myself, it made no difference sadly.Well, this worked for me.

I gave DX9 a spin and the sound stuttering was gone however! The sound completely cuts out when my fps drop below 20 or so and the game becomes even worse to play.
I use this processor, I tested it with 2 video cards, RX 560 and a GTX 660, both have the audio problem, really depending on the angle you put the camera the problem to
"
Processador AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3.10 GHz
RAM instalada 10.0 GB
"
I stopped playing since the release of 6.01, I played 6.00 in the faith that they will fix in the patch but now that it didn't I gave up playing,
unfortunately my experience was impaired
I tested it on a very old notebook that I have a second or third generation i5, with hd graphics, 4 gb of ram and the problem doesn't occur, of course the game runs like it was on ps3 but things like fishing and basic things you can do
I had to cancel my monthly fee, unfortunately![]()
The issue where you have a constant stuttering as soon as you start the game from the title screen, and the issue where you get intermittent stuttering in combat until you move the camera are two completely separate issues.
The former can be fixed by going to DX9, or making sure the audio is going to your device instead of being blank, while the latter currently has no fix except making it slightly better by changing Listening Position to 100 Character.
Just going to bump this thread again since we still haven't gotten an adequate acknowledgment from the devs. NA community support telling us it's our hardware's fault doesn't count. I've been having this problem since 6.0, and I wasn't sure at first but 6.01 has definitely made it worse. I've been getting stuttering in areas I wasn't before, and situations where the stuttering was previously mild are now unbearably bad.
I know it's around Christmas/New Year's and SE staff are probably working less, but everyone who has this issue is going to be extremely upset when 6.05 rolls out and the problem still isn't fixed or even properly acknowledged. Honestly, I'd be satisfied with a news post from Yoshi-P saying they are looking into the issue, it is a high priority bug, and possibly that they estimate to have a fix by X date. I don't know if we'll ever get this, though, since this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue in Japan, as the issue is barely mentioned on the JP tech support forums. Maybe they never used FX processors over there, I don't know. But SE can't continue to ignore the NA playerbase. It seems like the only thing I can do is to keep adding to the pile of complaints until they can't ignore how big it is.
Linking my youtube video showcasing the issue again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0zlmOvNnEQ

Just want to make sure I'm doing things right, and what additional info to add as I'm not getting the replies others are.
I'm reporting in report Bugs, right? Do i just mention the stuttering audio or should I send tech info (and if so how).
