Still happening, can we make it to one year of broken audio?! For shame, Soken.

Yeah I've had this issue ever since 6.0 . I have not resubbed since, and won't be as long as I have this glitch, it really only happens in dungeons for me but it completely ruins the experience.
Apparently it's just an issue that happens with i7 / AMD processors, which is what I have, and maybe others? But the response has basically been "buy a new computer"
I get a very inconsistent audio shudder accompanied by a very brief frame stutter. It's short enough that it doesn't actually interrupt the gameplay, it's just very jarring in the middle of combat mechanics. I have an RTX 3090 on Windows 11 and my drivers are kept up to date. It seems to occur quite randomly with no apparent place or activity linked to it. I tried reducing my sound quality in Windows to CD Quality (down from Studio Quality) and it felt like it happened considerably less. However it's been an inconsistent issue to begin with, so it's hard to say if there's any actual impact. When my audio is set to Dolby Atmos (I have an 11.1 setup), the same behavior happens, except instead of the audio shuddering, it just briefly drops out entirely and comes back.
I haven't encountered this in any other games and it didn't start until sometime around 6.1. The game runs smoothly otherwise with no performance issues or frame drops. It's just these audio blips.
I hate to necro but this problem is coming back for me now. It's about as bad as it was when Endwalker released. It was fine after the fix was pushed in the 6.08 patch (I believe it was) but the popping and stuttering is really bad again as of patch 6.28.
having audio popping/crackling issues since 6.3
happens when i do anything or alt tab
I am having slightly different issues related to sound:
The first one is that when I have a Discord voice chat in the background, it sometimes causes popping noises with the game audio.
The second one is that the game randomly loses right channel audio. Sometimes it comes back after a while. The can be fixed by restarting the game client. I have a similar issue with Firefox when watching Youtube videos.
I also had two occurrences of the sound completely stopping to work. Both time it was inside dungeons, but these were something like a year apart from each other.
The audio crackling and popping is REALLY bad in the new raid, which is a complete sin because the music is so dang good, but it really kills the hype when the audio stutters and skips and cracks. My original 'fix' that I had for myself by turning the camera doesn't work, all effects save for my own are off or limited (party is limited so I can see Asylum or Earthly Star bubbles, everyone else not in my party effects are off).
Please do something, it's getting bad again.![]()

I don't mean to revive a several year old thread but playing 7.0 right now and this is still happening. I've had it for ages, the crowd noises crackling in and out while mounted and loud crowd noises happening when I log out, I had just never found this thread before.
It's really frustrating that it's something that's still happening even now after the game got a glow up in so many other areas.
I think necroing in this case is good.. I've been having this issues basically since Endwalker dropped and I'm still having it to this day. And there has seemingly been no real fix outside of just turning off ambient music which just sucks. Same exact issues of after being on for awhile, random crowd sounds while running through towns, it's a lot more noticeably why flying on a mount, and when I logout just a second or so of loud crowd noises. It's so frustrating, I'm just glad it hasn't permeated more parts of the game for me ><;
Reporting the same issue from Xbox Series X.
Ambient sound popping/cracking. Especially when flying on a mount.
When logging off you can hear the crowd sounds for a second.
I'm surprised it's been apparently years without a fix by looking at the history of this thread.
