Their concern is if this doesn't remain an opt-in system.I think the system was created to give a bit of prestige to the top crafters contributing to Ishgard via a leaderboard system. The "RNG" gamble will save you time and resources needed if you master the priority system with moderate luck on procs.
Also, it's an opt in system, so if you just want the items, you can take the guaranteed crafting route for a few less scrips at max craft.
I personally wouldn't want it in main-crafting without adapting how main-crafting structures its output (HQ or worthless)
Yeah, if this enters the main-space, we *need* tiered levels of success, where getting to some quality threshold will create an item that was worth making, but going further beyond will make it better.
Earlier in the thread it was suggested that higher grade items would make overmelding easier, which sounds nice to my ear. The only thing I worry about is the community at large forcing this into a pass/fail system, where the only 'good' items are the highest grade ones.
Too much assuming goes on here if that's the case.
I think the current Master Books' system we have now makes the most sense for mass producing raid gear, pots, food, etc. for the battle jobs.
The "Expert" system, with some work, would be cool for the relic system we're getting. They could even apply the slow and steady turnins option, where the "Expert" crafters can get away with using less time and resources when building their relics.
As far as rewards, I miss being able to craft my unique job glamoured sets. 6.x wishlist would be building a "relic set glamour prism" that can imprint the job specific gear onto our omni garbs.

The new Expert system is interesting, but I am getting ARR and HW vibes when using 0/low cp actions to fish for procs. The amount of required actions we use is minimal, but that is the case it has always been even with macros. Overall, good job by SE!
The current system isn't terrible but it is far too pliant reliant... the last craft I did I didn't see a single pliant until 94 steps in and by then I just gave up.
Meanwhile on another craft, I got like 5 plants in 10 steps so I was able to restore my durability, use manip + waste not and then 2 Prep Touches with Innovation up for big gains and 4 stack of IQ with only 5 durability loss. That craft hit max easy.

The new proc's are unique only to expert recipes they will not be added to normal crafting or Master recipes. Lastly the expert recipes are aimed at people who want a challenge if you dont enjoy a challenge then dont touch them that easy.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
The thing is, Durability on craft is no problem, try to play it instead to craft it, and have fun.
This was cool play, I didn't use Byregot's Blessing

Such a spirited thread!

Here, I'm just gonna post my record of Expert Recipes results so far. It is data that can be used for considering the success rate of making a usable turn in, or calculating how much mats one would need to accomplish certain scores/scrips.

“The best crafter is not the one with the best stats, but the one who makes the best use of one’s stats” – By Caimie Tsukino
These crafts are actually quite fun but the difficulty is trivial. They aren't good for any sort of competition especially as there are no limits to how many you can submit.
I tracked four sets of around 15 synths and each time it was 14 at max collectability and 1 botch at 5.5-6k collectability.
They're also possibly balanced for min craft/control as I usually overshoot the requirements by quite a wide margin.
I don't ever remember seeing a crafting thread that had so much negativity, or maybe I just don't spend enough time on the forums. Here, it feels like there is a lot of divisiveness (from some) without any real reason or constructive argumentation.
It is also obvious to see who actually took the time to do the work and the research on the new crafting changes and who just wants to scream and shout for the sake of it. I appreciate those of you sharing real numbers, graphs and support to the crafting community. You are appreciated.
