I craft simply out of necessity - I'm a raider. Food and potions are basically required with early progression and I highly dislike spending as much gil that some crafters charge for their goods. The difference between having food and not is almost an accessory piece in difference. That's huge, not even taking into consideration the effectiveness of pots with raid buffs. That is why I reluctantly craft.

This statement makes me dread the future. I absolutely hated Heavensward crafting - it was time consuming and riddled with RNG. My objective is not to learn to craft; my objective is to obtain food and pots required to actually play the content of the game I enjoy. I can also sympathize with crafters that want harder crafts, but I implore Yoshida and the XIV team to not put that difficulty on items required to progress raiding.
I highly doubt they are going to make crafting raid food/pots/gear difficult to macro. The Ishgarde restoration is probably the only thing that will become "difficult".
