and you know what, since he clearly has no future intentions of what I mentioned above, I just cannot have any respect for a game director that chooses to do something like this.

Some people have mentioned a few ideas like gear with guarnteed overmeld slots, which alone would warrant it to be a hard to craft recipe. Gear with guarnteed overmeld slots for crafting thats not something you would want everyone having. Hardcore crafters would have that gear while non hardcore would continue to have star gear. Would also push people to choose what they want more guarnteed slots or a buttload of materia blowing up in their face..

You're one of the tens of thousands of crafters effortlessly spewing out Facet gear on a 1 button macro and listing it for peanuts. There are no "great" crafters anymore. Literally nothing you do, own or will do in ShB related to crafting has any meaning or is an accomplishment in any way now.

guaranteed meld slot gear already exists as Ornate gear and only available via Wondrous Tails (or by spending millions on the MB). it should stay that way.

Out of curiosity, why do you feel that way?

Advanced melding is a bit of a pain that doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to purge the server economy of excess materia. That could always be achieved by making it more difficult for players to obtain materia in the first place. Right now the amount of materia floating around is a bit of a joke thanks to the ease of scrip grinding, hunts throwing out planicrystals/planiclusters like crazy, etc. The change to conversion in 5.2 where the item is no longer destroyed will add even more materia to the system.

If need to rub your accomplishments in the face of others to feel proud of them..then yes you won't get through crafting anymore.

I don't really get why, in a game that is 99% co-op, where people feel this need to compete, the need to be "the greatest" or any of that junk.

I just like ticking off checkboxes and throwing them in the "Done" pile without having to grind grind grind grind and work against my fellow player to do so.

The most expensive thing in the game I know of is 50 million gil. Me, the casual player, has 46 million. Can somebody tell me just WHAT you need 70, 80, 100, 500+ million gil for? Seriously, now.

.......good. Maybe average players can enjoy walking up to the MB and actually being able to buy something now.
