But they've always been 80% due to Steady? In fact Hasty II and Rapid II and III were 90% under Steady Hand II, so 80% is a nerf to compensate for not needing to spend CP on Steady Hand every 5 uses.

I think 20% fail rate on every touch is plenty of risk. It only takes one or two misses to screw your craft up and fall short of HQ.

Personally, I like it so far. Makes my crafting hotbar a lot cleaner and it was fun finding out my own white script crafting macro. All in all, a net positive for me.

I'm leery about procs being a thing for Ishgard restoration crafting UNLESS there is a guaranteed number of procs in the craft. When they show up can be randomized with a range of steps, so you need to plan for them appropriately, know how to bait them out and so on, but it means you're not as beholden to RNGesus to save you.

Of course they were. With the old system. But this is just about like starting fresh. And in light of the changes made everywhere else, I still hold that I'd find 70% more reasonable than 80%, for a skill you're meant to be very reluctant to use.

True. And I didn't use them then either.

Feedback? okay, if they do plan to add some value or challenge back to crafting, I hope it will not be Ishgard restoration only. Ishgard restoration in concept is content with begining, middle and end. Once it is restored, we're done and this is back to "complete item 7 of challenge log" or 6.0 rolls out and becomes dead content.

Yes, all speculation so far since the information we have is very very limited on what will happen, but still hope that changes that might come should be planned with 6.x content in mind too, and not just Ishgard.

Yes, I'm sure that if they decide to make endgame crafting more difficult, it would apply to Ishgard and beyond. They probably wanted us to have time to adjust to the changes before dumping super hard content on us, which is why we didn't see any such content in this patch.

Hello, I wanted to give my take on crafting as someone who does not enjoy crafting, but is still wholly affected by the change.

I craft simply out of necessity - I'm a raider. Food and potions are basically required with early progression and I highly dislike spending as much gil that some crafters charge for their goods. The difference between having food and not is almost an accessory piece in difference. That's huge, not even taking into consideration the effectiveness of pots with raid buffs. That is why I reluctantly craft.

"I have my crafters leveled but I have no idea what I'm doing, can someone just give me a macro?" is the kind of gameplay and line of thinking that they wanted to remove from crafting.
This statement makes me dread the future. I absolutely hated Heavensward crafting - it was time consuming and riddled with RNG. My objective is not to learn to craft; my objective is to obtain food and pots required to actually play the content of the game I enjoy. I can also sympathize with crafters that want harder crafts, but I implore Yoshida and the XIV team to not put that difficulty on items required to progress raiding.

I highly doubt they are going to make crafting raid food/pots/gear difficult to macro. The Ishgarde restoration is probably the only thing that will become "difficult".

They aren't really difficult to macro, they're just different than they were a couple weeks ago. Mostly macros that people were using before patch 5.1 just need to be tweaked to be in line with the new system.

At this point, all we can do is speculate. It's still early in expansion and this change is newly released.
