Having people drop their sub because they are done for a few months is not good for SE, quite simply. Its also not the sign of good design - every time somebody has to resub, you have to drag them back from their new game. This is how you slowly bleed people because they just cant get themselves back into the game, as other games are much better at keeping you engaged.

Yeah, but FFXIV actualy increase its number of player every time. It never fall further than expected and maintain enough player to be extremely profitable.

Your theory fall flat in front of reallity.

Yoshida himsefl recommand player to unsub, play something else and come back later to enjoy new content. So what now ? Does he scuttle is own ship ?
