It would be an improved Roe so I'd probably would switch into it, and I still have my free fantasia on my main that I've been holding. If people want to speculate the about Hrothgar being the male Viera equivalent, then I hope they know they'll highly unlikely get a thin elegant looking male Viera. Heck, I can use some of the same arguments on this forums against that option by saying, "We already have a male based bunny race, it is called Hrothgar! We should get something different!".

I understand your point, but I personally would love to see an actual male implementation of the Viera, and a femal implementation of the other tribe.
Gender-locking tribes is such a dated mechanic, it really has no place anymore in today's game market.
And frankly, I don't care whether Yoshi-P doesn't like the concept of a male Viera. We're the ones giving our money, and obviously the demand is there.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Hrothgar be something else instead of this combination of what both groups wants where no one wins, so that way they can add male Viera later like how they should actually appear.I understand your point, but I personally would love to see an actual male implementation of the Viera, and a femal implementation of the other tribe.

The problem with Hrothgar is that their appearance has been described as Ronso-like and bara cats. If they did mistake male Viera/their equivalent with them then we'll most likely get Roe with bunny ears. The thing is, you shouldn't want Hrothgar (if they exist) to be male Viera or it'll make no one truly happy. The race could still be elegant looking even if they're bigger. :v Not all big races have to look like ogres or something. I want a race that is ripped and dignified looking. Kind of like how the Viera females are sexy but still have this real fierce presence to them. Like they aren't to be messed with.
I just don't want another big comic relief race since SE pretty much uses male roes as joke characters exclusively.
If they're trying to give us Hrothgar as a substitute for male Viera, they should at least try to fill some of the expectations people had from Viera though. People aren't going to be happy if they're given something completely different and told to just forget about male Viera. That'll go over terribly.Don't get me wrong, I prefer Hrothgar be something else instead of this combination of what both groups wants where no one wins, so that way they can add male Viera later like how they should actually appear.

Honestly, I see making Hrothgar the male Viera as a lose situation that no one should want. Based on the description of both leakers the male Viera equivalent won't look like what most people want out of it, and if they base it on rabbits that slashes a mark of actually ever including male Viera in the first place. We know a general idea of how it'll look like and if it is based on Ronso/bara cat it'll probably use a modified body of Roe. It is a lose situation for people who want something more bestial since they could go in the next fanfest, "Oh, Viera isn't the last race! We said probably, remember guys? It is actually Hrothgar!" and if they decide to ever do work for more races instead of unlocking Viera/Hrothgar is gives them an easy out of saying, "Well, we already have a male and female based rabbit races. We would prefer to do something different this time."If they're trying to give us Hrothgar as a substitute for male Viera, they should at least try to fill some of the expectations people had from Viera though. Cause even if they say these are the last races, I don't fully believe them. >.> I'm very bad at getting my points across so I'll try to do tldr.
1) Hrothgar and Viera are female/male bunny races. Hrothgar is as described to be basically Roe with bunny ears. Developers think that should satisfy folk and never unlock these races, it is a male and female bunny race after all. Both groups are unsatisfied. They can now add a completely different race (which would make Viera fans lose in the end)
2) Hrothgar and Viera are both different races that satisfy different groups. People on forums make a ruckus (temporarily unsatisfied) , they unlock them later since they don't have an excuse. Both groups get what they want.
3) They unlock Viera and Hrothgar which are both bunny races. (bestial race advocates lost)

Yea, I do see what you're saying there, but I just can't imagine them announcing a wildly different kind of race to go with Viera. They have to know people have their expectations primed for some version of male Viera, regardless of what form it takes, and for them to give people something completely out of left field is going to leave people feeling burned. Especially if the new race is something that is going to appeal to a small subset of people, (i.e. the bara people). :vHonestly, I see making Hrothgar the male Viera as a lose situation that no one should want. I mean, can you imagine Japanese girls reacting to a giant cat race that shares a body model with roes? Japanese girls who were expecting cute doe eyed bunny boys to fawn over? Do you really want Yoshi to break their hearts?

The problem is, for Au Ra female/male we had at least artworks (even if they differ by a lot from it). But Hrothgar are just a mystery to us. I blame SE for not being informative on this. It does build hype, but it can turn into something really bad within seconds. Once people realize Hrothgar are totally not their type, its gonna cause massive disappointment. Even more if they're going to be our male Viera substitute. If they're trying to give us Hrothgar as a substitute for male Viera, they should at least try to fill some of the expectations people had from Viera though.
