Gender locked race?

yeah that's how I see it too - anything from strained silence to maybe people leaving the hall. Not that we'll get to see it, I doubt the cameras'll pan in the middle of FanFest. We'll hear about that if it happens from game journalists and fan testimonies

It seems that the beastly race is more favored by the western players. Especially if it's the rough, "ugly", beast type and not the "cute" beast.

I reckon SE will hope to bring up the hype back with Hrothgar after it goes down with the gender-locked Viera announcement, but it's the JP audience.... so, not sure...

Lol well I'm actually hopeful for them to add male Viera at some point simply because there's precedent of them getting over whatever qualms they have with it. (bunny suit) I just don't think it'll be something that will make fanfest seem any less hype on stream.

The reasons why I am pessimistic about Viera men showing up in Tokyo is because of how they introduced the race and how Viera are being marketed on their websites, the wandering dramaturge's dialogue about them, the bugged dialogue in the french version, how accurate the leaks have been and because of how silent Yoshida has been on the whole thing.

But why go out of your way to say Viera is the last race to be developed? I guess it is meant to be an intentional troll to then show up in Tokyo and surprise us with Hrothgar.

Have a look at how Viera is listed on Square-Enx's press website. You would think they would have titled them as "Shadowbringers - New Race Female Viera Artwork" if the males were developed. I could totally be wrong about this though as they could just as well be planning to surprise us with Viera men but it doesn't seem likely to me.

Which ever they end up presenting to us whether it be the Hrothgar or Viera men, I just want them to look awesome.
