Also he's opposite Solus and the Ascians helped create his empire, so I would say probably linked.

Solus is an Ascian. Varis shot him dead and he was back in a fresh body within a minute.

I was under that impression too but I wasn't 100% sure so I didn't want to state it outright. Do we know which one? Because the big three are Elidibus, Lahabrea and that Emet guy, so I assume it would be one of the big three?

Lahabrea died at Thordan's hands back in 3.0. Elidibus is in Zenos, which presumably puts Emet-Selch as Solus.

Well, we know Lahabread is toast. Elidibus has stolen Zenos' corpse. Emet is different, if they're taking lore from FF12 then Emet is known as the 'Angel of Truth' a 'Scion' of light; that doesn't sound like Solus. That sounds more like us, or there's another Ascian who is more 'Good' than Elidibus' 'Neutral'.

My only objection to your theory is that the lips look more female in that style. But given we don't know what male Viera look like, that's not necessarily a valid objection in the first place, before being a personal observation of mine. And now I'm slightly hyped.
It being a Viera at all, least of all a male one, gives more reason for them to keep that chara hooded and shaded than any other plot reason could XD

I honestly do not agree. I agree that it's better to get everything always, but I am not against a company that introduces genderlocks. I've played plenty of games that had them and I honestly never thought about if I was missing out on something because it was just part of the game. Not that I'm FOR genderlocks, it's just not something I've ever cared about one way or another. What I am FOR, though, is a more beastial looking race. If male Viera is that way and not the cute bunny boys some people want, I'd be pro male Viera. If Hrothgar ends up being beastial, then I am for that instead. Definitely both sexes for both races would be BETTER, but from a workload perspective I am understanding if they cannot accommodate.

So either the guy to the right in the ShB boxart is Emet opposite of Solus or maybe that one NPC I completely skipped over in Crystal Tower or some completely random male Viera. Sounds like time to make a new thread.
