Fair enough that you have a preference but frankly the world is moving on from having a hard line between what is for boys and what is for girls. I don't really care what someone else wears. I only care that every player has equal choice of wardrobe and hairstyles regardless of gender.

Also there are already plenty of gear and hairstyle combos that can make characters look androgynous, yet the game isn't overrun with this. I seriously doubt removing gender locking would encourage a sudden rise cross-dressing or androgyny.

I try to keep worldly affairs out of the forums (especially politics), and keep convos restricted to gaming, but I cannot deny how much of it bleeds into the game. A natural result, I concur. The world moving away from traditionalism is not a good thing, and it is now being resisted by those who wish to uphold these values. The streets are overrun by girly guys, and burly women; the MGTOW reaction/movement is stronger than ever and still picking up speed; the US birthrate is now lower than the level required to replenish, and single men are boycotting marriage because it is just too risky. And I don't blame them either.

I'm not even going to go as far as to blame modern feminism for this mess, but rather I believe this chaos we're currently living in is a result of cosmic male and female energies trying to restore the balance. IOW, the result of women suppressing their own femininity is overly emotional and effeminate males. This is just what I believe, of course. But before I head into a tangent, I brought all of this up because if gender restrictions were removed, trust me, you will see a rise in cross-dressing and androgynous avatars. That is based on the world moving away from traditionalism.

There, you calling "mess" people's way of life, the way that they achieve happiness, that's just disrespectful and at best very selfish because you're only thinking on your own interests by not wanting people to have the freedom of choice.

Not at all. I respect a person's freedom of choice. If I see a male dressed as a female, I'm not going to stop him and project my views onto this player. THAT would be disrespectful. All I am doing is expressing my PoV of the world as I see it today. And of course I am thinking of my own interests. No one else is.

The way you wrote your PoV before is actually projecting your views into people. You want it to be done in a way that your PoV is achieved (in your example to the game, by never having gender-unlocking), which will hurt someone else.

But I won't post any further in this subject, because it seems that it's going in circles. As long as you keep your convictions out of harming anyone, it's fine.

Explain to me how keeping things gender locked hurts ANYONE. Please! I really want to hear this.

You're really okay to tell me that your happiness is bound to someone else's misery? Call it audacity then.
I thought you were done posting? My happiness is bound to someone else's misery? You must have taken the gold on the mental gymnastics team. You can best believe I will call that audacity because taking my words to mean something entirely different than my intention in order to establish a point on your part falls precisely under that definition. If you want me to respect a person's choice to be who they want to be (which I do), I suggest giving some of that respect yourself. Respect and support are not synonymous. These peeps have one of those from me, but not both.

I support the devs decision to keep things gender locked because it lines up with my views on traditionalism. I have every right to voice that support on these forums just as much as those who support lifting the restrictions. Feel free to disagree to your heart's content, but if you think it is ok to suggest that I just remain quite, it most certainly isn't.

It restricts choice in a way that doesn't benefit the game. There's no reason why a male character shouldn't be allowed to wear a skirt, nor a female character to wear trousers or a suit with a tie.

Oh wait, female characters DO get to wear trousers and suits with a tie. So why can't males wear skirts.

Flip your question and ask how removing gender lock hurts anyone. It doesn't. It doesn't even hurt you regardless of your "traditional values".
