I won't argue that the majority of iconic FF glamour options are more catered to males, and that there is an imbalance there. But I cannot ignore how favored females are when it comes to overall glamour options in the game. But I also don't see it as an issue either because I am very traditional and see male attire as utilitarian rather than fashionable, but their gear should always look really cool, powerful, and masculine; and a lot of it does.

It would be nice if our heroine outfits were also released. I've been wanting Aerith and Rinoa outfits forever now. But they would be gender locked for sure, which could hurt their sales theoretically, but I honestly don't think there would be that much of a difference at all. Even non-shop buyers like myself might fall off of the wagon.

My thoughts on it at that, since most of the gear we get in game is male-styled and a majority of the themed glamours are male. What’s the harm in giving females a couple of the glamours that generally we aren’t getting to see for at best a gender-locked reason.
Though that shouldn’t be an issue since there are several male glamours that are equally locked, Butler attire, and the two I mentioned in my previous posting just to name a few.

It would just seem reasonable to give females the counterparts to the male glamours we already have locked or not locked, haha why not let guys run around as tifa or garnet. :3c

Well, there is no actual harm that would come from releasing more female glamour options (you won't hear me complain, heh), there is already an uproar of so many glamour releases being designed for females whether they are gender locked or not. However, I honestly don't know the exact ratio of gender locked gear, but from what I have observed and see available, females own the glamour market.

Oh God, please no! Garnet wouldn't be that bad at all, but males lack a particular anatomy to fill out Tifa's outfits ;p

Females may have more "purely glamour" outfits, but most gear seems more in line with a male design than one for females. There are things they could do to tweak them to make them more feminine, but people would throw fits like they do know that "gear is gender based, everything needs to be available for everyone or riot"

Every outfit bar the DRG AF that is skimpy on females is skimpy or skimpier on males.

I'm not sure what you're thinking of, but there are lots of things that are more revealing on female models. Pants turn into miniskirts all the time (or occasionally into fancy underwear), or develop holes that aren't there on the male version. Crafters' coatees are a formal jacket and shirt on male models, and very low-cut on females.

I wouldn't really consider that skimpier (in regards to the skirts) and i forgot about the coatees tbh. but all of the shirts that have added tops on females, for one. maybe not every outfit is skimpier, but a lot of them are definitely showing off male torso's.

Ahhh! Ok, I wasn't reading her post correctly. I definitely agree, and wish more sets worked like Shisui and AF gear. Perhaps in the near future.

From fantaing an alt I can say of BRD sets alone:
The female BRD AF1 set shirt has a deeeeeeep v for cleavage while the guy version is way more closed off
The femaleBRD AF2 set pants has 1 almost bare leg (attached to itty bitty bootyshorts) while the guy version is a regular pair of black tights
The femaleBRD AF3 set has a tiny skirt that hides under the coat while the guy version has a regular pair of pants
    But past that pretty much:
Every WHM bottom becomes pants for guys
Panties/skirts become regular length shorts (or pants)
    Shorts become pants
Cutouts in shirts/leggings generally get filled in

If by "skimpy" you mean "a fraction of a pec shows" on certain shirts then yes, I suppose some could say that male gear can be "skimpy" lol. Out of SB the only real shirt I can think of where guys show more skin is the newest Monk AF set.

Oh yeah, the bard shirts. Or lack of shirt on the AF1. It's not just a deep V-neck, they literally removed the undershirt (though left the sleeves!) so there's only the vest with a single centre pin holding it closed.

And I'm really disappointed about the AF3 pants. They are gorgeous, and might as well not exist on the female set.

The other thing with the AF2 set (which does have a very deep V-neck, down to the stomach, although with a shawl draped across the chest) is that, despite being technically identical for male and female, the implications of dressing like that are different. It's more acceptable for a male character to have an open shirt like that, than a female character using the same style. (Everything is loosely fitted and a wardrobe malfunction is surely imminent!) And yet they keep doing it, and either add nothing for female modesty except maybe some straps (ie. this and the Infantry Shirt) or they add a bra. And having a visible bra is an entirely different implication to having a visible undershirt.
