Seeing this thread reach 52 pages of people complaining that someone else gets to share their shiny toys has just conceived me that I need to plan an outfit around these damn earrings.

I'm tempted to do the same just as a gesture akin to pulling my bottom eyelid down and sticking my tongue out. I'd have just otherwise thrown the earrings into my armoire and let those who knew better tout them around 'proudly.' Now I just want to be a thorn in their sides just out of spite.
Mhmmm there's a lot of hypocrisy here, MoroMurasaki you argued verbatim a few days ago in an other topic that giving raid rewards to everyone devalues raiding.
So when it comes to your "shiny stuff" it's not okay to hand them over easily, but when it comes to someone else "shiny stuff", suddenly it's okay.
In this topic you say:
And in an other topic you say this:
And this:
I find all this very hypocritical.
Those opinions probably clash and come across as hypocritical, because, again, you're comparing handing out items for content that is current like it is nothing versus items that are no longer obtainable, due to the mountainous problems with 1.0, so stop pulling these poor comparisons. Even if people wanted the earrings, wanted them the hard way, they'd be impossible, Again, there's a dramatic difference between handing out items you can currently get and handing out items that are no longer obtainable.Mhmmm there's a lot of hypocrisy here, MoroMurasaki you argued verbatim a few days ago in an other topic that giving raid rewards to everyone devalues raiding.

I would argue that given the choice in the matter most people here probably would rather the fight be back in the game, with the true difficulty maintained, but they don't really have the choice in the matter, and the event has not even occurred yet.

There we go. More "I'm only going to wear them to be irritating to other people". Fantastic reward planning, SE.I'm tempted to do the same just as a gesture akin to pulling my bottom eyelid down and sticking my tongue out. Great community btw!
Its as amusing and ludicrous when you think this is standard behavior here.
A: "I want <something>".
B: "You weren't here when it was available".
**SE makes it available in an event/mog station**
B: "SE you betrayed my trust in you". *Makes an outrage thread/post*
A: "Now I'll just <wear/use/buy> it to spite others". *Makes a "mocking" thread/post*
Rinse/repeat at leisure
If you say so.
To be fair, people probably would be more sympathetic towards the people that did complete the fight, but when people sprout comments out they feel humiliated (No what is humiliating is removing the specific legacy campaign exclusives), or that we don't deserve it, then it does warrant it, granted it is something out of our control. Especially to the latter (I can quote probably a dozen comments that do this? Nobody likes being handed down items, replica or not. I can say for certain a lot of people making such comments and myself included would love to be engaged in the content that allowed these as a reward I'm sorry, don't deserve them so I will discard them. Some people poked bears and those are just 2 of the responses that came from it.
People will be spiteful especially with partially misdirected comments. It does also help to know when people are and aren't being sarcastic. Whether the items are given out like freebies or not is something nobody even knows so it's just too early to even sprout that.
Granted people spent effort on it, and potentially lost sleep or booked time off work to complete the content, but that remains true for anything. People spent massive volumes of time completing former raid tiers, for their items, mount and so fourth, for people to what? Come along, unsync it, nuke the bosses down like mechanics are irrelevant. Old items, you'll still have the memories associated with them, and of the encounter itself. We don't have that, and that takes precedence over some earrings that most people have only ever stored in their retainer.

Both sides are guilty of this. What did you expect was going to happen when people called it "just earrings," "just pixels", "it's just a game, lol" basically making fun of people. Come on now. Just go re-read the first two pages, where people are explaining why they are upset, mostly reasonable and a suggestion (I mean it's literally renaming it, with the glamour still being released), and the other side literally making fun of them.People will be spiteful especially with partially misdirected comments. Former raid tiers is a moot comparison, as they never said they were going away like the 1.2x content. You're doing what you're accusing other people of doing, like comparing the ravens to ultimate which of course isn't the same either since right now they are not indicated to be removed from the game. After the first time unsyncing stuff it is to be expected now so people go into it knowing that sometime down the line people will faceroll it.
I'm surprised this thread didn't get cleansed yet.

...Because they are just earrings, just pixels and it is just a game. It has nothing to do with actually making fun of someone. It's just the truth.
(Though I am absolutely using that image to make fun of the statement. Also, I just wanted to use the image.)
It does, you can't be that ignorant to see some people don't even care about the earrings (some have admitted as much) they are just in it for the lols/trolling. Just like your post. Come on this is the internet.
But whatever. It was really a response to the accusing of one side of being toxic, like the other side were saints. I don't even have them.
"why so serious?" could be said about anything even IRL. It's easy to brush things off when you don't care about them.
