The thing I ask the thread is this...

How long do new people have to wait to get items that are 3, 4 or 5 years old? What if the content that those items comes from doesn't exsist anymore? Do people that own such trophy items actually glamour them a lot or only sometimes or not at all?

I was always wearing them in 1.0, then had to wait for glamour in 2.x to be able to wear them on every gear set, DoL, DoH, DoM.
Like many, many, many pointed out, we don't mind them being available to new players, especially if it makes them happy, just it would have been better if they were Replicas.

The event has been live for a few hours now, and the npc needed to spawn the instance has not spawned from what I have seen. There, it is just as hard to get the earrings now as it was in 1.0 irt getting a party to go in. Now you can also relive waiting for a party to get in to the instance, just with waiting for the npc to spawn.

to which I'll add, I'm not even going to bother with it cause they're just dumb earrings and 100% not worth waiting around for a FATE to pop and try to farm 50 tokens, maybe if the FATE gives me 50 token for gold.

The only downside to this is the people who desperately bring up at every opportunity that they've been playing since 1.0 will now do it even more frequently.

It's a game. Don't attach ego and personal pride to pixels and polygons.

I for one am happy to have a chance to get these. I would loved to have played 1.0, unfortunately, #1 I didn't have a computer that would support the game at the time, and #2 I was dirt poor and unable to afford net that would allow me to play it or the sub.

Um, no. I get that you feel let down that these earrings are being made available, and I can empathize, but the dev team has set the rewards and the requirements for earning them in this event. And if that person you quoted participates in the event and meets those requirements, then they have earned and deserve the rewards. You don’t get to decide that. The game will. Matter of fact, the only way to tell if someone has earned the thing or not is that if they have the thing then they have obviously put forth whatever effort and/or met whatever requirements were necessary to obtain that thing regardless if it measures up to your expectations or not.

Well there's always the achievement on Lodestone. It's the only way I can prove I ever did the Binding Coil raid before HW.

That’s your opinion, but is it how the devs designed the event?

It can be considered a bit rude to go around telling others that they don’t deserve/can never earn rewards that they are being given an opportunity to get, simply because you don’t like that they have that opportunity (general you, of course). It isn’t their fault that the devs decided to do this.
