Yes, I feel the same way. Similar challenge for a similar reward. Ultimately it would have been nice to see The Raven, Nevermore recreated for 2.0 and available from the Wandering Mistral.

Even then, perhaps it should have been a replica, not the exact original. Best of both worlds.

I would have loved that, as I didn't get the chance to play FFXIV 1.0

Actually they were the best damn earrings in the game at the time. It was only in ARR that their stats got nerfed to uselessness. Compared to the stat bloat of today they probably look laughable but in 1.0 they were uncontested.

Hi. I was just wondering if the information on the Events requirements are also wrong. It says the only requirements are lvl 15. I was able to do the whole event on my Main character, that I've had since beginning. But I also have a few alt characters I did it on and I can do the little quest for the music scroll and pet following the lalafelle around, but I can not see the Guy that takes you into the instance to participate for the vouchers to give to the Rising vendor to buy any of the earrings. That means, not only the white raven earrings, I can not buy the lvl 20 earrings either. My alt is lvl 60 and past Heavensword. I also did it on a lvl 30 character. Still can not see him. So Either it was taken down or it is only for higher levels/farther in story and not posted as on the information about the event. I did play very early on, deleted my original character, lost my tattoo because I didn't like her look and never thought they would have something like fantasia at the time. lol. So yeah. I lost stuff I liked from back then as well. But I've been on this main character now for all these years. Again, though. she's the only one that was able to get the earrings, since none of my other characters can even see the Rising event fate guy.

I think the main problem here is that the items are given for free.

I think this kind of exclusive item should be gated behind a similar accomplishment that people had to back in 1.0. A good move, in my opinion, would be to give it to players who clear all savage content in the stormblood expansion, or even better : beat nael deus darnus with minimum item level. That would have been far more appropriate.

That's kinda how I'm feeling too about it. In 1.0 even the normal mode Nael Darnus was not an easy feat by any means. I never did the HM fight but I remember the stories from others. Even if I played through 1.0 and did beat the normal mode Darnus. I won't lie but yes I would feel guilty and not right after getting something from the HM fight for nothing more then a few talky bits and one level 15 FATE.

I guess next year the Dalamud Horn and Legacy Chocobo will be free hand outs too.

At least SE is consistent in the realms of disappointment from broken promises.

To all of the people going "Who cares, its just an earring" "Who cares about it's trophy status"


It's not just the fact that its earrings or a trophy, its that the fight was a thank you to those that had stuck with a game that we KNOW was going away, the devs gave us the chance to get an item that we could remember things by and this was your only chance to grab one.


They can release it, sure. (Never got one cause I only managed to do the fight once but w/e) But to 1.0 players, its crazy to think that the devs would rather just stomp over all over that good will instead of just making it a replica piece like with the riding chocobo helm and the 1.0 chocobo mask. OR just make a new pair of earrings.


But i guess the Stormblood devs arent original enough to even give us NEW earring glamours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Just off the top of my head, how about earrings with the Risings Meteor logo?)

I have been playing since 2.0 release and didn't even know these earrings even existed until today.

I asked a couple of 1.0 players who have it and no one really cares or have even worn the earrings as glamour since 2.0

A lot of the feast rewards and Ultima weapons can be gotten for a price due to RMT from people who are doing the content so these rewards are already tainted.

Let's be honest how many people have ever noticed those earrings and even if they brought back the fight at level 50 to give the earrings as a reward at this point it could downed by anyone unsynced in under a minute you have had the items exclusive for almost 5 years at this point which is longer then any other content and still have stuff that is exclusive.
