And it sounds more like another "I want to have something you can't have" complaint, which has never sat well with me.

The problem is not that, the problem is that those White Ravens were the only trophy for beating one of the two hardest fights of 1.0.
There was no title, no achievements, no timestamps. Only the White Ravens.
So, once everyone will get them for free, it will delete from the game the accomplishment of players who worked hard that summer to clear that fight, as it was requiring lots of resources, involvement and skill. You were asked to really step up your game.

It would be different if it was the same treatment done for the Ultimates, as for them there's an achievement with timestamps permanently written to your character page. It would not delete the accomplishment from the game.

That's why the best way to handle this situation, is to bring back the item, but with a different name, like a replica, that way everyone is happy.
