Yoshida said in an interview post eureka release that the team was fast going home to play eureka...
In the same interview he explained how much eureka was fun and all...

Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: [...]these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Of course he said that lol
You think the director of a game under a corp like SE who is so so wary of public image would say "no none of us here play it and we don't find x or y content much fun either but we decided to give it a go"
I mean I don't hate this game but I will not white knight it because it definitely has issues in innovation, concept and design, not to mention it is quite a ways behind other games in the genre. The team definitely are not the hard gamers they want us to believe they are. They make way to many mistakes on things even casual players would notice and seem to think they are doing something new when they release something that has been around for over a decade.
They may have played it and had fun, but most likely in dev god mode during play testing. I really do not believe they play otherwise and if they do, its definitely not at the same capacity of an even standard casual player.
