Nothing you said implies you could simply roll your face on the keyboard to not die while you pulled. Stop hugely exaggerating when you think something is too easy and instead say something like "This isn't challenging enough for me, can I please get a hard mode for this where mobs hit like trucks on nitrous instead of just trucks"... yes, you can. It isn't an exaggeration. If a DPS can tank bosses and even a single trash pack, in what universe isn't that faceroll easy? It literally demonstrates how incredibly easy the content is, which is why tanks do room to room pulls almost unanimously. You won't need a cooldown otherwise. and its people like you who I'd insta block and never want to meet in game. if one thing gets my goat its people who insist the game is too easy and keep demanding it be made harder for everyone. Games far harder than a lot of other MMOs according to a lot of people in this thread even, and you wont admit that the game isn't as easy as you continue to insist it is.It isn't an exaggeration. As a Tank, it allows bigger pulls in dungeons due to higher HP and Defence, also, higher enmity gains due to more damage and thats not counting just killing things quicker in general.
As a DPS, it allows pulls and bosses to be killed quicker, which means less resources used with tanks and healers to keep tanks alive and less resources used by DPS to kill packs, which means you are less likely to run out half way through, and your dps plummets as a result.
As a healer, stronger shields and regens means you need to directly heal less often, which means more DPS and an easier time healing the tank.
Basically, it makes content easier by making the healing, tanking and dps checks more forgiving, and this isn't just in dungeons, this also applies to EX primals and Savage and to a much much lower degree, Ultimate (an extra 40 stat points technicaly makes things easier, but you probably aren't going to notice it).
The only other thing to then consider is mechanics in fights, and gear doesn't help there in regards to executing them, that's down to player skill.
So really, they need it in the same way people need better gear for savage, to make margins of error bigger and more lenient.

I suppose I should expect little else from someone who still called BS on how low dedicated healing was required for dungeons despite logs and video evidence proving otherwise. So please, do explain to us all how a DPS being able to tank bosses, healers only needing to heal 15-20% and tanks only requiring cooldowns on mass pulls isn't faceroll. You can 100% do everything current up to O3S mindlessly and do well. It doesn't take any effort to perform your role at a basic level (especially since the basics of your job should be hardwired into your muscle memory), and just a little more to do well in non-raid content (including the 24-mans). Dodge AoEs, AoE groups of mobs, do your rotation on bosses. That's 99% of dungeons and 24-mans. Nothing hard at all.

People want the best gear they can get for their character because people enjoy improving their character. that is the motivation for getting gear. not necessity for sure.
The relic should at least be equal when finished to raid weapons. doesn't have to be better but it needs to be on the same level or why bother?
