This is a disaster for WHMs unless they change something fast.

It's pretty egregious when compared to the Paladin. Paladins got a mechanic that either builds up steadily or fast but randomly, AoE, magic mitigation, and a way to use mana to do damage. All of those are complaints that have dogged the paladin for the whole time it's been around. White mages LOST ability to prevent damage, have a completely random mechanic that has additional random parts to it(20% cure/2 you get a lily, 20% on a crit cure/2 assize/asylum cooldowns reduced, 20% cure/2 your party members get a confession), and gained no utility that isn't just damage or healing. They addressed the paladins' complaints thematically, interestingly, and made the job both more viable and fun in the process. White mages got nothing adressed, and rely even more on frustrating random chances to make them feel like a unique class.
I just want to remind people that we lost a bunch of abilities, and traits. We lost Shell protect, We lost super holy, We lost stone skin, granite ss, damage on fluid aura, a whole bunch of utility ect. While some things we lost I can understand, all we have got back was a 3 minute Benediction????? Why do we keep getting destroyed every patch. This is suppose to balance healers? I really hope our rework doesn't come as late as 5.0 because Square is dishonoring this iconic class every single time they try to fix or balance it. I really don't understand how they think this will fix anything.. I am scared for any new healer classes they try to introduce into this game.

i don't know what WHM out there were casting mostly Cure I and Cure II but the changes they've announced so far seem to cement that as a WHM main job: cast Cure I and Cure II on as many targets as possible as often as possible to proc Lillies and Confession.
The problem: wasn't WHM the Heals over Time job? So Medica II, Regen, Asylum don't interact with the new systems at all. I know personally, my healing style is to stack HoTs on a target and heal whatever needs to be made up with Cure I and II. Now it'll be flipped, I'll want to reduce how much I rely on HoTs so that I can get as many stacks as possible? It just doesn't feel like it's working how it's supposed to.
I think WHM dps is fine, Holy is still there and we have new MP management. But what the heck happened to our healing??
You know that its two weeks from launch? They just put that disclaimer in because you have to. Chances are these are final until they decide to move things around in 4.1. The problem isn't just the healing though. People in raiding are very damage utility centric and WHM offers nothing for them. Even if AST had gotten nothing new, they would still be preferred over the new WHM because more healing isn't the answer.
well lets wait for the expansion before we jump on any worse case scenarios ^^You know that its two weeks from launch? They just put that disclaimer in because you have to. Yeah, I agree that SCH is looking like the perfect healer in SB, and AST has one of the only remaining strong utilities. I guess that's why WHM is getting general purpose abilities that apply to both healing and personal dps?
There is no potency for 0 Confession stacks. 0 stacks = 0 healing.
He's arguing it's not going to see use as an AoE because the only person you are likely to be building (and maintaining) stacks on is the main tank (at best). He certainly isn't wrong, based on how encounters are healed right now.
Honestly, i just checked all the skills.
If Scholar didn't have Chain Stratagem (new battle lithany), he would not be able to guarentee his place.
Whm healing is just monstrous and could be the main heal (and could solo heal) easily for each content.
Don't underestimate him.
You know what could have fixed this? A cool trait where when you healed an injured party member with a single target spell they gained a small damage boost for a few seconds.
