So the solution to WHM's HW rough spot is to let it continue to stew there. Noice.
Back to AST I go~

I certainly don't knoe enough about AST, but do they truly have fast consistent AoE heals on par with WHM? I was under the impression AST big heals had setup time and longer cooldowns.
Can't arugue about Balance, of course.
That would be WAAAAAYYYYYYYY OOP; if they made the same confession proc at 20% rate of a regen tick. Being that you could medic II the whole party giving 8 ppl ticking and regen mt for even more additional ticks (and if you really wanted to go overboard regen everybody or stack everyone under asylum while you're at it). They would have to nerf the proc rate soooo hardddddd to keeep ppl from abusing the mech. But then if they nerfed the proc rate; ppl would be forced to keep max regen on party ticking in order to maintain someone with confession. This method off of cure is more stable is less abusive since it will cost you a gcd per proc attempt; vs your regen method which could at most cost you 9 gcds and one cd and you'd have a confession machine for the next 30 sec!!!!
It was required to survive Death Sentences in T5 progression, and I still use it a fair amount in A12S, primarily if someone has weakness, but it's also useful for some of the later Heat/Spear hits if your tank is running low on CDS. A PLD without CDs (Or just mistiming things) can still get one shot by the tank busters here.

The new 900 potency heal has some setup time. The other heals...Benefic, Benefic 2, Helios, and so on-- those are straight up stronger than WHM heals now, and cost less MP.
Gordias had a problem if I remember correctly as an attempt to slow down world first raiders as they wanted it more difficult, trying to force them to hear first, in that aspect they succeeded but it broke many statics. So it was definitely over done and they had admitted that.
They were indeed careful with AST at the beginning, while it could heal "all" content it was supposed to, it was subpar compared to WHM/SCH synergy so people dubbed it useless or underpowered. SE knowingly overbuffed AST to combat the classes reputation of being subpar with "holy **** that damage buff".
It worked but they never pulled back the buff to equalize it again, they couldn\\\\'t do nerfs during 3.0 due to the overreaction people have with nerfs so 4.0 would had been the best time. Now looking at the information it seems like they didn\\\\'t learn from past mistakes or just didn't listen to the community.
Absolutely agreed there, Plenary isn't likely to be much use outside of progression raiding really.

Stronger and Faster? Or just stronger? I noticed a lot of cooldowns removal abilities in the WHM toolkit.
Collective Unconscious alone is 3 times more powerful than Medica II when CO'd (and on top of that it has a shield effect). Aspected Helios and Helios are on par with the WHM equivalents (Medica II/Medica). Finally Lightspeed is extremely good when paired with AHelios and Helios (makes them instantcast and cheaper).
Scholar's Indomitability and AST's Collective Unconscious when combined is enough to heal through 2 Mega Holys.
