Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

Whenever I encounter a terribad dps like this I just leave the instance. I'm not going to spend a half hour in a level 60 dungeon carrying someone. I'd rather take the penalty and craft/gather. I've offered enough advice in this game and have gotten way worse than "shut up" many times. Some people are just complacent being terrible. They're lazy and they know they're inconveniencing you. But they don't care. They're more than happy to get carried. If more people would start leaving instances instead of carrying people, maybe they'd get the hint eventually.

I view presumption as a rhetorical construct--that is, it is a predisposition of the audience toward a claim that a debater makes. So, if an affirmative case (its significance, inherency, plan, whatever) makes an argument with which the critic agrees--then the affirmative case has the presumption. If an affirmative case makes an argument with which the critic disagrees, then the negative position has presumption. So the OP, with no proof to the fact that a Bot would be running Fractal with him/her, to word the question as such instead of something more passive, makes perspective irrelevant.

While I do agree that your example of Confirmation Bias is correct, I would argue that the original statement I quoted is also Confirmation Bias.

He [Peter Cathcart Wason] also coined the term ``confirmation bias'' to describe the tendency for people to immediately favor information that validates their preconceptions, hypotheses and personal beliefs regardless of whether they are true or not.

Without any proof to establish that a bot would be running Fractal, and the many posts before and afterwards stating the same without and clear proof to the statement would be confirmation bias. The Irony you speak of is lost on me, since I did not form any statement into a loaded question, nor did I presume any judgement on the speaker, I just requested proof with a side of satire.

Enochian's rotation is fairly situational for a few reasons:

- Both Fire IV and Blizzard IV have longer cast times than other spells. These are not spells you can cast if you need to dodge quickly, and missing a spell in your rotation hurts your overall DPS far greater than other spells.
- Fire IV can only be cast under Astral Fire's effect, and does not renew the timer. You need to use other fire spells or ice spells to keep up the chain.
- Mis-timing your Blizzard IV (or having it interrupted) can mean losing Enochian's effect.
- Fire IV and Blizzard IV are both single-target spells. They're mostly useless on trash groups, and best reserved for bosses or tougher trash.

Now, having Enochian's effect boosts all your damage, so it's nice to have up by default, but the level 60 'rotation' is situational, and not something you would use all the time. Certainly not for most trash pulls, since you'd only get a few spells off before you move onto the next group.

This was a boss fight though. The only boss I've ever had major issues with was the last boss of Neverreap. The first boss of fractal does have some awful dodge mechanics for BLMs, but it's still possible to use the rotation effectively. You will do more damage using Fire IV than using your level 50 rotation.

This thread is just chock full of arguing over semantics, parsing the OP's text, and picking apart each other's interpretations of the events. If you meet an underperformer (any role, not singling DPS out here), you can speak up, kick, carry, or leave. It doesn't matter why they're underperforming, or how you feel about it, those are your only options. State your piece or pick your action and move on, every DF group is as simple as that.

I wholly concur, but I stll have to agree that the OP was being Facetious without merit and that he should've just left or finished the run without said comment seeing how it got him kicked anyway.

Meh, the BLM was being lazy, the Op had every right to ask why she was being lazy. Not agreeing with the way he asked but still feel he has a right to ask why she was being lazy.

You do know bots are a real thing in this game, and there's a good chance that people who don't communicate in a dungeon from start to finish could very well be running a bot? Hell botting THM/BLM who do nothing but the standard 2.0 rotation are the most common type.

You, nor anyone else that isn't the OP can't possibly know if it was loaded, and intended to wound or not. Give it a rest. If the person in question chose to feel insulted by it, it's their perspective on it.

Are you saying you'd be offended if I asked you if you were a bot after 10 minutes of suspect behavior, and not even saying so much as a hello? If so, that would be your problem. That's not me being snide.

If you dont understand your abilities why on earth are you doing content at level 60? Knowing what something does is the first thing you should do when unlocking a skill and if you don't understand your abilities and refuse to find out what they do you are indeed either lazy or incredibly rude to the other people you get stuck with.
