Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

Whenever I encounter a terribad dps like this I just leave the instance. I'm not going to spend a half hour in a level 60 dungeon carrying someone. I'd rather take the penalty and craft/gather. I've offered enough advice in this game and have gotten way worse than "shut up" many times. Some people are just complacent being terrible. They're lazy and they know they're inconveniencing you. But they don't care. They're more than happy to get carried. If more people would start leaving instances instead of carrying people, maybe they'd get the hint eventually.
