Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

Sadly it is not true always. Yesterday afternoon I got off from work for a couple of hours before I got to come back. I got home and I wanted to do at least 2-3 dailies before going back to work.

I got a healer that was doing a very poor job in healing and was just concentrating on DPSing (there were times I could died of I were not spamming CDs 2-4 in each pull. I even used HG). I decided not to say anything during that time cuz I was really tired and just doing my job which to tank. Once we were done with the first boss, the healer went to the wrong direction. I said " wait", " you are going to the wrong direction xD" ( I put that emote cuz for some damn reason can only see it friendly if there San emote ./swt) and the healer replied I NOTICE! And then started to say that she was tired she just got off from work and was not thinking right and I should not tell her what to do. ( srly? I just told you went to the wrong direction. I was really tired to start an argue with that type of person) I was in the same situation, yet I didn't use it as an excuse and continue doing my best. Funny thing is that the dps started to tell her she was a bad healer and cuz she saw me talking nicely she probably wanted me to what defend her? I'm sorry, but I won't do it.

After having that little drama, she actually started to do a bit better yet died in the last boss.

I see the blm as the healer in my party and the tank her defender, which the healer in my party would wanted me to be. It is even more noticeable cuz the healer said they are rl couple so obviously the tank will defend his gf even if she is doing things wrong.

This is how I play it. Either I go in and give it 100% or I don't go in. Doesn't matter whether it's a low level dungeon or not. (EU btw)
Only exception are guild funruns which are supposed to be relaxed.

The Reason for slacker DPS is that there is no metering system.
Tank fails: BLATANTLY obvious, serious fail = wipe. (and a flamefest to boot b/c tank has to be purrrfect on try 1)
Healer fails: Obvious most of the time, because people die. (insert flamefest)
DPS fails: Barely noticeable... not noticeable at all on encounters w/o enrage mechanic.

What we need is an obvious recount to put some pressure on DPS, buut SE doesn't want that.

Yeah, some people are just stubborn and can't be given advice :/ I've encountered that a few times too.

I guess we all just have to accept not everyone is brilliant and wont all ever be because no matter how many time people give advice or explain things there's always people who wont listen or get upset about it.

On a positive note though, I've also met my fair share of absolutely incredible dps in duty finder who inspire me to get better and make the run so much more efficient.

Whether a question is loaded or not is a matter of perspective and if you would actually take offense to it to begin with (like pretty much any other thing ever)

You do know bots are a real thing in this game, and there's a good chance that people who don't communicate in a dungeon from start to finish could very well be running a bot? Hell botting THM/BLM who do nothing but the standard 2.0 rotation are the most common type.

It is a legitimate question that I'd ask people in my groups on occasion, and not because they suck. Because I want to know if I'm playing with a human being, or if communication would be a wasted effort.

You, nor anyone else that isn't the OP can't possibly know if it was loaded, and intended to wound or not. Give it a rest. If the person in question chose to feel insulted by it, it's their perspective on it.

I would point out that the enochain rotation is a liv 60 rotation, and is very different from the rotation used by the black mage while levelling, so saying that he/she "had lot of oportunities on her way to lvl 60 to learn the rotations" is just a non sense (however I find very funny how many 'pros' in this topic ignored this 'little' thing).

Is not a problem of standards, but a problem of how to give an advice to a person who does not know the liv 60 rotation (maybe he/she was a fresh 60?), and, for sure, "hi is this a bot?" is not a good way to start.

Yes it could have been worded better, but we can't say if it was intended as an attack. Just want to clear that up.
