Woot, cleared A3S.

SMN is real good in there. I'm not sure who's better in honesty, BLM or SMN. SMN has a lot of perks in our gear defensively and consistency, BLM probably can do a little more total DPS maybe if you're just talking Living Liquid damage. Shit in add phase, but heavy is all that and a bag of chips for letting your whole group blow virtually 0 CDs and then come out into the final phase swinging. Virus on every Cascade is so good in i190, as is being able to LB3 for high damage and POSSIBLY LB2 the second one based on crits. I ended up about 1k DPS no BRD/NIN, but again, shit in add phase 100% unless you waste Aetherflow (can enter final phase with literally everything you'd start a fight with if you just Miasma spam), you go from 1300 to 900 or so by the end of it so it's super skewed down.

I'm not sure if you had a Bard or not. I know another gorup in my server cleared with a SMN and he was less than 1k DPS with a Bard.

I got 1.1k on my side and I could have done more I messed up few times near the end and my bard did die so I lost some Foe. Overall, the clear is what matter xD

I am pretty sure his group doesn't run a bard or a ninja so 1k is actually quite fantastic.I just wanted to see his PoV to know how his DPS dropped from 1.3k to 900 on add phase :O

Here's what I do on add phase.

Deathflare to start. Obey a different add. Rouse + Aetherflow as they come up. A random 3D sometime I feel like it. Miasma Miasma Miasma Miasma Miasma Miasma Miasma Miasma etc, Bio or Ruin if nothing better to do. No CDs, otherwise, from most of my group too. Used to do a lot more stuff like 3D Bane and trying to hit spawns with Garuda's AoE, but once I realized what I did let me come into final phase with 100% everything I stopped fiddling with anything else and just got on dat Miasma spam. 1300 > 900 NP

No BRD or NIN, just DRG giving Litanys (which probably benefits SMN a tiny bit more than other classes, cause you get almost a full minute of RS + Litany'd DoTs). Did 2 LBs but they don't really hurt SMN to do that much. I'm nothing special, in fact I got lots of room to improve I think.

A little curious about this, could you elaborate how you're ending the hand of pain phase if you have enough time to deathflare the first set of adds?

I assume you're going dreadwyrm near the phase change and doing something like 3D + contagion--> painflare --> bane? then i assume you target the tornado and when the adds appear deathflare as dread runs out?

just curious about the most optimal way to handle that phase change (when my rookie group gets past A2S)

You get 3 DWT sessions before add phase, one near start, one after Washaway 1, then one right as you do Pain DPS check. You'll spend all 3 stacks on the Pain check, then DWT between phase transitions or it runs out. Target Tornado, Deathflare, voila.

Pain check is basically 2 Festers and a Bane.
