Hey, I just wanted to post some ideas I had about these three. So....
In general:
With the introduction of gauges it might be good idea to begin redesigning the HP/MP/TP/EXP/enemy HP/job gauges/et cetera into a single graphic, or at least just some of them to be more aesthetically pleasing and easier to absorb by players.

Bard:
Timing: Basically, this will just be a reward system that would insentivise players to keep songs active throughout encounters. It would basically give rewards for switching the next song in a certain amount of time, and would be telegraphed by the song gauge blinking red.
For examples: read below.
Wanderer's minuet reward: Straighter shot proc chance up for the duration for song activated during timing.
Mage's Ballad reward: River of Blood activated for duration for duration of the song activated during timing.
Army's Paeon change: Once all of the notes are activated timing will activate.
Army's Paeon reward: Activating timing will continue its effect for the duration of the song activated during timing.

Machinist:
This would be a really big change.
- The drones would hover near the player when summoned.
- Switching drones would be instantaneous.
- Palisade would reduce the damage dealt to a party member transfer it to your MP
- Some OGCD skills would be changed to use turrets to bypass animation lock.
- cooldown and reassemble would be combined into eject and exchange, to replace the barrel. The damage will be dependent on the state of the heat gauge
- Promotion would summon a second turret for 30 seconds
- Rapid fire can now be extended with successful hit with enhanced clean shot.

Summoner: These are based on observations of user complaints from unrelated threads, so these will most likely miss most of the issues and totally flop as ideas.
Egi: Egi's will now look more Allagan inspired in design until they are fully upgraded at in a later expansion to look closer in appearance to Summons within the Final Fantasy series (or maybe just world of Final Fantasy).
Play style: Pets will act as player auto attacks, and Ifrit and Garuda will now be smart enough to move out of aoes by themselves (Titan will defend and heal himself). When out of range: pets will teleport to you, so you don't have to re-summon them. Summoner will mostly focus on feeding their egis to activate big summon attacks (egis will be vulnerable during the cast time, and best if used pre-pull), which will have an OGCD as well as a feed gauge to fill. Ramuh will cause paralysis and light damage. Shiva will bind and cause light damage. Leviathan will cause light damage and knockback. Shadow flare will replace malefic and create stacks which can be used for mega/giga/terra flare. Smn cast times will be long outside of egi feeding (they work for food). Other than egis: all summon spells will have less obtrusive graphics behind the summoner. Summoner's at lv99 should be adequate at crowd control measure.
