ah ok, thats not as bad then, although then you got a bunch of gimped gear for being too low for it lol

That is true also but with how gear can be equip on any class at any rank most people just run around in R50 gear anyway, this is something I hope they address with the rank restricted gear coming.

It is nice being able to wear anything but I kinda miss looking forward to get to that rank to equip that piece of gear or get that weapon, being able to equip it anytime kinda ruins that for me. Though I know a lot of people love the system so guess I am in the minority on that ^^

In regards to level sync and gear in FFXI you could still wear you gear that was for your proper level before the sync and then it just scaled it down to the equivalent gear you synced to.

So if I was level 75 with level 75 gear and synced down to level 50 then my gear would sync down to level 50ish gear and gimp it a bit. So it wasn't as good as wearing proper level 50 gear but it would do the job
