    I'll respectfully disagree here. The problem was that any damage except for a stack marker was completely avoidable. Even with minimum item lvl you could have dodged every other instance of damage.
    I know that ilvl will always trivialise low lvl dungeons to a degree but I still think you could add more forced hits or raidwides to counter the problem at least a little bit, even if it means healers having to hardcast their (aoe) heal a bit more often at those levels.
    The individual hits don't need to be hard so new healers could still fix them easily. But the accumulated damage of several raidwides/forced hits should endanger a party at some point if the damage isn't taken care of.

    Personally while I dabble into tanks sometimes, I never really transition into an actual tank main nor bring them anywhere outside dungeons (not even 8/24 mans because it's even more boring than dungeon pulls). I do find myself leaning toward the two extremes: DRK and WAR.

    DRK has two real fun button: TBN and Abyssal Drain. WAR is to emulate the meme 'melee healer', but frankly I wouldn't play it as much if it weren't for some NPC from Shadowbringers and really loving their aesthetics.

    I don't find much joy from PLD and GNB. The only time I can feel the 'happy juice' in my head as the former is when I get to use Clemency to pull off aggro from whoever pulling too far ahead lol.

    I think that part of the issue here, is the homogenization of the tank rotations. For example, back in SB we had PLD with 'maintain Goring Blade on enemy', WAR as 'the 2min meta before the 2min meta existed' (until they reworked it so you got your burst for free), and DRK was 'speed freak john madden with some MP management'. Now, every tank (thanks to DT) has 'press this button to activate burst, then this other button 3 times (4 as PLD) in a row'. It was fine when PLD introduced it with Req in 4.0, it was ok when WAR coopted it for the IR rework in 4.2, but now DRK has Delerium and GNB had/has Bloodfest (allowing 3x Burst Strike, now allowing Lionheart combo too), so all the 'rotations' can feel a bit samey

    As for mitigation, the only one that truly feels 'different' to me is DRK because it's got a 15s CD on TBN instead of everyone else's 25s, TBN has an inherent risk to it (if it doesnt pop GG part of your damage), and Dark Mind is occasionally completely 'dead' as a button because the boss doesn't use Physical damage enough.

    When I play Tank now it's GNB. Partially because I miss the speed of SB DRK, partially because I started the series with FF8

    It’s been a few pages without one so I feel like we’re due a ‘HEALER STRIKE NOT WORKING LOL’ followed by several threads about how hard it’s become to PF savage.

    Can’t wait for the Live Letter this month where they will mention the issues with tanks and healers a whole 0 times lol

    I'm trying to decide on my tank main, and it's a lot harder to decide than I thought.
    I'm pretty attached to paladin. An additional party mitigation plus on demand healing. The rotation has some flexibility and can stay at range for extended periods of time with no damage loss.

    not true, I am willing to bet they mention something about tanks. seriously... something minimal just to let tank mains know they are being heard, some small buffing x ability to be more in line with y tank... but since this is part 1, its likely all about the story and nothing to do with jobs. but even in part 2... I say tanks get mentions but healers? nope. well... maybe a picture of one.

    According to SE... the potency displayed is wrong but the damage is correct. If anything, fixing this will actually lower these moves damage/healing before getting these traits.

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    Honestly, they probably won't even say a thing about healers. They seem to be adopting the approach of "If we say nothing about it, they'll eventually stop talking about it" approach.

    It's working out for them so far. Massive outcry over Kaiten? Eventually stopped. Massive outcry over BLM changes? Eventually stopped. Massive outcry over the DC travel restrictions? That'll stop eventually too.
