    That is an option too, it would become kind of similar to ESO - where, however, by default resurrecting teammates is a priority for DPS, then for Healers and last for Tanks... I personally would prefer the other way around - almost no combat res (WoW-like). Wiping in casual content is and should be unlikely to happen - by the time you level up to play harder casual content (Extreme Dungeons), you should've learned the basics of the game, maybe your job and what to expect from trash and bosses (like, please avoid the red circles and cones ). And even if you wipe, there are always shortcuts so it's not like you're wasting a lot of time running around an empty dungeon. On the other hand, there is also always a lesson to be learned, so you grow as a player and sometimes prepare better for the real end-game, if you want to go in that direction. There might be toxic people that after one wipe might call for a group abandon, so there is a downside... That's just my 2 cents after 15+ years of being a healer main in several MMORPGs

    Honestly, I don't have a lot of high hopes for this dev team to make any significant changes since the problems affecting healers are myriad and would need changes from healer kits to encounter designs to tank sustain. Not to mention, they seem to lack creativity in making each job feel unique and interesting, which is my personal sticking point. I stay subbed for my FC at this point, but I am looking for other games that have healers with interesting play-styles.

    I am afraid the time for that is long past. many in this thread would scream "but what about accessibility!!!" and complain about any added expectation of competence. its been becoming simpler for so long, I am sure subs would drop at the mere hint of responsibility for learning your job.

    How does the game continue from here? Most players use duty finder which requires healers to play content. Healer participation declined in post EW. DT sees even less healer participation with a lack of attention to the role.
    In addition, they release 2 new dps jobs, inflating the dps role playerbase. It's a balloon and will deflate, but will always be higher than it was before.
    Worst of all, they said they will never release more healer or tank jobs because theyre very hard to balance. So there will be no increased interest in these roles in future expansions short of reworks and new abilities. Which we can expect to continue to be the same uncreative trash that does nothing but scale to new content levels.

    Counteractions to the future decline in healer and tank interest:
    -cross server duty finder, world visit and data center travel Honestly without this, we'd be back to ARR 30min-1 hour long dps queues. It helps to even out parties faster.
    -people want commendations for some reason? I guess they want to insult themselves with the burger king crown of mentorship and make everything think theyre a jackasz
    -people will play healer just for instant queues. This doesnt make the problem null, it's a symptom of the problem, like a fever. It hurts the game as people should be able to play what they want, not what they have to.

    Healer interest will only decline from here on after sage in EW, while dps interest increases.

    Honestly, as much as this is going to draw out the "You're elitist!" crowd...

    Good. It would honestly trim the most toxic players in this game. As much as people like to harp on the WoW community for being toxic elitists, I have never seen the sheer level of bile that comes from XIV's militant hyper casuals, in even the most elitist content in WoW.

    A fair point, we'll have to wait and see what the Devs choose to do in the future I am definitely not saying I understand better than them or others in the forums, as I said just sharing my personal thoughts and experiences. In the end, I would assume and hope we can agree that the current state needs to be torn apart and rebuilt.

    I think this is - at best - a short-term solution. People will play healer until they complete the achievement and then go back to playing other jobs for fun. And that's at best, in my opinion, as I believe a fair amount of players wouldn't really care about a new mount - I know I wouldn't...

    If it's the same as tank's, what most people do would is to just spam O3n PFs with full party of maxed out green dpses lol.
