If I didn't care about doing roulettes I'd just heal as BLU so I can play one of the only fun jobs left in the game. No need to pay me, no need for AIN bonus.

it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
If you think our complaints are so petty, then why charge people to heal for them? I mean, if you have to be bribed to do your job, then clearly, it must be something you can't enjoy very much.Do you hate the petty healers on healing strike?
Do you think the healers that come in only to raise and never heal are lame lame-O's?
Are you a DPS who waits 30 minutes to queue up only to have a healer screw you over and think that's pretty weak?
Do you need a healer for quick queues?
400K per run and I'll come heal for you!!
Why pick me? Because I'll play the game like an adult and do my job (healing)!!
This is the part where we're supposed to pretend that healing parties blind-running the first dungeon of a new expansion in min-ilvl gear is representative of the state of healing as a whole in the entire game.
Instead of, y'know, pointing out that the exact same thing happened in EW and ShB, before healing went right back to 211111111 spam the instant people were geared up.
I think even the chimps would feel their intelligence to be insulted by the role.
I can absolutely believe this. Yoshida saw the healer numbers going down, checked the JP forums, saw no complaints about the role, ignored the NA/EU forums entirely, and concluded that healing must still be too complicated, and it needed to be dumbed down more. Because he doesn't actually play healer (he mains BLM), and because he kicks good healers from the internal testing team, he has no idea how braindead boring the role is.You'd think that would have send a message a long time ago. While it doesn't tell SE what is wrong with the role (they can look at the healer subforum for that), it does clearly show something is wrong. For years.
But maybe SE just twisted that message into something completely backwards. Like: players must really hate playing healers, we better make sure healers have to heal as little as possible.
"Once upon a time, you were the based healer, who could carry any tank through the largest of pulls! Now you're just here because the Duty Finder said you have to be." - Lucy Pyre
I understand that far in the past, the game couldn't handle too many statuses on anything. So combining that with Arcanist tomfoolery and putting like 5 DOTs per player on enemies until the system couldn't even keep track of them all was silly and a problem. (I'm specifically referencing the cross classing days)
I also understand that DOTs have seemingly been slowly removed from most gameplay because they are seen as making a job too busy or complicated somehow.
But we've mostly fixed the status effect issues as far as I'm aware and I just have to ask: can we have DOT spreading tools? Arcanist dot spread was so fun. As I understand it, SGE now has something that plays with the DOT but it's also a new expac ability? Whee.
I feel like every healer, much earlier in the MSQ, would benefit from a DOT spread ability just like we would benefit from very slightly earlier access to AOEs. As it stands, admittedly, I like having to make the very small and easy but nonetheless undeniable decision when running and dotting things with my Tank when it's time to stop and move to AOEs or healing. It's not much lmao. But when it happens all I can think is, dang it, I wanted to get my DOT onto a few more enemies.
That's when I usually weave a paralysis potion onto an enemy or something in ARR content cause I have nothing better to do.
Why can't energy drain refresh my DOT or something?
I would genuinely still take a healer rotation of 1111121111 if the buttons changed contextually or proc'd things. Just give me a 3 hit combo on 1-1-1 and make it interact with my DOT or something already.

>why do you play healer, is it because it's fun?
>because I get payed for it
not selling me on your enjoyment
Because I can? It's gunna pay for my Air Wheeler. Thank you for your pettiness!!
I truly enjoy healing. It's so much fun keeping people alive and getting comm'd on by everyone.
I will say, I don't think regular dungeons should be changed at all. Although I would like some extreme versions of current dungeons where the mobs are tough as nails like criterion but maybe the bosses aren't as hard EX trials (so we're not minimalizing the EX trials).
If people are willing to pay other players just for them to play healer, I can't imagine much better prove that the healer role needs improvements. And it directly counters earlier claims that there are still more then enough people playing healers. Sounds like the strike is working far better then I ever expected.
