I can absolutely believe this. Yoshida saw the healer numbers going down, checked the JP forums, saw no complaints about the role, ignored the NA/EU forums entirely, and concluded that healing must still be too complicated, and it needed to be dumbed down more. Because he doesn't actually play healer (he mains BLM), and because he kicks good healers from the internal testing team, he has no idea how braindead boring the role is.
