New players get overwhelmed by not just all the healing options, but also the idea that instead of "passively" regaining health from another player, they're now responsible for all of that, and it can give newbies a bad case of nerves.

Thing is...once you get over all out, outside of Ultimates and progressive Savage or just doing some really insane pulls in old content, there's not a lot of ways to make use of your knowledge, and that's frustrating.
FF14 is the first MMORPG that I haven't mained a healer in, I started as a healer and dropped it because there just wasn't any healing to be had. Switched to a Tank main and haven't gone back to healing outside of when my wife wants to go tank.
