You can see this because their proposed solution is basically to punish all the people who have absolutely no agency over the the outcome.

When you have a game the size of FF14, with millions of people playing all over the world, you're never going to make a change that pleases everyone. That's just a fact. You could have millions of pages of paper that is nothing but people saying they want a specific change, and someone somewhere will still claim that "nobody wanted that change!" Or go on ad nausem in melodramatic fashion about how that change is ruining the game. It is a phenomenon you can see applied all over the place, not just FF14. Look at Microsoft Windows and how every time Microsoft makes some change, there's always people complaining about it. Usually by people who couldn't even code a hello world app if their life depended on it. They have zero understanding of how the sausage is made, but that doesn't stop them from thinking they're an expert. Now, if the OP or some of the others complaining have worked on a MMORPG like FF14, I'll be much more willing to listen to what they have to say, otherwise theirs is not even a the equivalent to a single grain of sand in the Sahara compared to the millions of people worldwide that Squeenix is trying to make a game for. Some people are going to love the changes, others will hate them with a burning passion, most will probably be indifferent. If people think they know what will make for the perfect MMORPG, there's nothing stopping them from developing their own and putting it out there. I suspect pretty early on anyone who tries this will come to have a much deeper respect for the FF14 dev team. Everything's easy when you're playing armchair quarterback.

Bottom line: You don't like the changes being made? That's completely fair. However, if it bothers you to the point that it seems to bother some people here, I'm just left wondering why they continue to pay for the privilege of being made miserable. It's a video game. It should be fun to play. If it is not fun for you, then that should be a sign that you need to move on to something else. Most of us only have a few precious free hours a week, so why spend any amount of that time being miserable? Surely they can find something else to play and/or spend their money on that will provide them with enjoyment instead of frustration.
bottom line: your ass hurt cause they provided feedback and others agree to it and you cant stand it.

reason for their "whine" ,simple they love the game, love the aspects of healers, love their main job they playing(or rather used to) and wish it would be better.

went over your head? well tough

Sorry but I just need to correct this since I've played all four healers in savage on controller (including Astro!). With a couple settings, you can easily access 32 hotbar buttons on controller, and frankly with the amount of buttons each job in the game has it's a very good idea to do so.

I like when people go from "You are entitled to your opinions" to "You're just whining" in the same breath.

They couldn't even be bothered to make it a new animation this time either to give a brief "ooo shiny" period. Exciting stuff.

8.0 epic originality rework is gonna make the cast time on the DPS spells slightly different.

i was curious and ran a couple of questions through google gemini to see what the response would be. Just basic questions and some could have been worded better but feel the replies show it understood what was being asked.

First question i asked was: what do you think of final fantasy 14 healer strike?

    it's answer was:

Second question was: What is the best solution for job identity in final fantasy 14?

    answer was:

Third and last question was: Was it a good decision to do battle mechanics update for this expansion and postpone job identity until next expansion?

    answer was:

and will be noted in a single line, on a single barren slide for healers *collectively* in a multi-hour showcase of the gameplay changes. with the appropriate amount of dismissal and derision from the hosts, seeking to quickly move on to more palatable subjects.
the Real jobs will get individual on-screen showcases, and a few slides explaining changes in more detail.

If a healer is brought along at all, at that point.
To be fair... it's kind of right there in the name: Healer. As opposed to "Damage Per Second" which is a whole other class, or tank. The focus is on keeping people alive, just like tanks are the damage sponge, and DPS are the ones who do most of the damage. Any damage a healer does is just gravy the way the duty system is set up. Instead of every player being something of an army unto themselves, they are intended to have to rely on one another to successfully complete tasks. You don't like the direction the healer jobs are going, that's a valid opinion. However, you'd probably have more luck getting people to listen to you if you had actual solutions to propose instead of just complaints. It's like the line from Tommy Boy: "Great, you've identified the smell! Step two is washing it off!" You've identified a series of problems, the next step is coming up with solutions. Spend some time thinking through how healers could be made better, and not just "go back to <version> which was perfect." It wasn't; you know it, I know it, so does everyone else. You want to add a new attack for healers, fine, but show that you've thought through how it would impact the overall balance of the game. Also accept that there are likely technical and legal reasons why they may not ever implement your idea. If you're not willing and able to accept that, you should just move on to another game now.

I think they should either scrap, or completely overhaul THM/BLM, but I don't really have any ideas to offer on how exactly to improve it, so I tend to keep that thought to myself. I do hope one day they take up my idea of creating a physical ranged healer though. Maybe for 8.0. They could call it Acupuncturist and they throw needles with various potions on the tips to apply different effects. However, that's about the sum total of what I've got for it thus far, so it would need a lot of fleshing out before it's ready. Maybe another physical ranged job that focuses less on damage and more on causing status aliments to enemies. Possibly even zero damage and allow them to be a fifth member of a standard duty. That one might be a lot of work to implement, however, since it potentially would require reworking the logic for every single enemy, but it would make for an interesting shakeup to gameplay IMO. As any developer will tell you, sometimes the smallest seeming changes require the biggest refactoring of code to implement. Even if the devs wanted to make some changes, it might require a massive overhaul of the code, which then requires a lot of testing, etc.

Also a controller player and I have SCH pet actions (Heel and Stay) on my hot bars with zero issues to.

I got 48 spots and 32 spots are easily taken. AST actually has more button real estate available than SCH does for me.
