Yes 100% mob pulls should be threatening, a party should triage which mobs to pull and when, Crowd control should matter as should kill priority etc.The trash in dungeons doesn't just need higher numbers but should stress the party out in different ways.
We already had stuff like the Final Sting bees in Qarn and the AoE poison/sleep/silence using Ochus in Brayflox's Longstop and spice like that should be the standard over the generic telegraphed AoEs they started to favor heavily over anything else.
It became about the reward in spite of the journey or the class complexity.I'm not a huge fan of the "its the players fault" narrative whenever it comes up for any online game, but for this community, i can't really disagree.
I played my share of online games, but this one is the first and only one where i got the feeling that people really don't care about the gameplay at all. Every time something gets straight up removed or heavily simplified, people celebrate it.
The discussion around scholar is particularly interesting to me, i noticed the same people who often agree that the healer role need to be more interesting also demand that scholar's dissipation and energy drain to be removed because it's "clunky" and "punishing".
Many tanks have a strong dislike towards Warrior and how everything in the game needs to be warped around it tbh. The entire first tier defined by Holmgang? No problem. Dark knight is better at dealing with bleeds? Unfair, insta patched. Warrior gets Aurora as a bonus effect on Equillibrium and Shake it off turns into an ogcd medica 2 with shields and mit. While I fully support this I’ve come to realise it’s pointless
And that’s not because of a lack of feedback from us or a lack of visibility on our feedback or anything of that effect
It is simply the fact that healer mains are the only people in the game who even want healers to exist in this game
Ask a DPS, ask a tank, ask anyone who doesn’t have a strong opinion on healers if they prefer the healer healing or the tank doing it for the healer and 99.9% of those people will say they prefer the WAR doing it
That’s why they don’t respond to our feedback, they are designing this game for the majority of people who play who would just prefer it the healer role didn’t exist
Warrior continues to do every tank mechanic on it's own or makes room for strats that are impossible without holmgang? That's cool. Another tank doing 4% more dps? Insta patched.
Warrior doing more hps than a healer during Harrowing hell, which was the hardest hitting raidwide of the expansion. When Drk has 2 mits that do not interact with it at all? Yeah that's fair though.
I remember doing Uwu and my cotank wanted to do everything by herself, i actually didn't get to do any tank mechanic besides add phases during the 3 primals.
She'd always have either holmgang up or would just mit and heal back up. But then you're also not allowed to do more damage?
I'm genuinely just done with support gameplay until some drastic changes are implemented. It's not fun to feel like a jobber for some overtuned job.
The further simplification of tanks and lack of any directional changes in DT were enough to make me switch to melee dps.

It's interesting to me that lots of tank mains talk about bad healers as though parties are just wiping left and right due to bad healing at higher levels. That's just not my experience. Maybe in older content because players are newer or have maybe forgotten mechanics (roulette can be that way). At higher levels I find this happens way less. Expert roulettes are child's play 95% of the time.
And if you actively watch healer casts it's truly comical.

It’s weird too because in all my experience you really need to try hard to die, and it gets worse the higher up in level you go. Like even if your healer is a dog pretending to be a human they can still just hit Medica II repeatedly with their nose and the party will mostly be fine. If there’s a Warrior present, Doggo may as well just retire and go pick up a dps lol.
Also, to reiterate a point I made in another thread: how far are we really going to go to protect people from so-called ‘bad players’? Simplifying the entire game design? Removing chat from all Duty Finder dungeons like PvP? Reduce healing to a single 5000 potency, instant-cast AoE with no MP cost that auto-revives? Will they add auto-battle to healers so their dps spells literally cast themselves in-between heals?
At what point is ‘making it so bad players can’t ruin [my] fun’ going so far that’s it’s literally just making the game worse? In my opinion we’re long…long, long beyond that point.
Hi, tank main here, I almost never see a bad healer like ever. As a tank main the only real time I see issues with the healer in particular is some ARR dungeons where everyone is playing with a gimped kit and it's actually kind of a challenge to wall pull if you're inexperienced and not paying attention. When it comes to people I would consider "bad players" (I'm really judgey to be fair) melee DPS who waste time running out of AOE when they could have stun cancelled it and DPS that waste multiple LBs by never pressing it are more common than dirt. It's just that their bad playing doesn't make anyone wipe.

MrHappy's Monday w/ MrHappy video first two questions were healer issue/strike related, and his takes... I mean I'm not participating in the healer strike, but even I'm not THAT dismissive of the issues. Just more of the same: 'We don't have enough info' and 'Oh, it's only a few people' arguments.
I agree that healers are plagued with issues as of late, but the one real problem I have with this idea is if you do this, you're going to be striking for the entire expansion. It's incredibly unlikely that they're going to make any major changes to healers mid-expac.
