We do have four healers now, one of those could keep GCD nukes. I'd think either WHM or SGE as WHM has a reputation as the easy beginner healer and SGE simply has little history and can still be shaped like clay.

We have Bahamut yes, but what about a second Bahamut?

The silent majority argument has been argued even over on the Japanese forum, and even then some of them agree it is not worth pandering to people. Why? Because there isn't a way to survey everyone on this topic, could there be a way made, sure, but atm that doesn't exist. Thirdly, the silent majority argument is used unfaithfully because again there are just no numbers to support one way or another, it is used to garner favor for a personal outlook or favor.
This is the reason that I feel like Yoshi P is being dishonest when he cites player consensus as reason for job changes. That simply can't be true, or if it is, he either isn't implementing the solutions correctly or multiple subgroups are responding negatively to the consensus changes they asked for. I think what's most likely is that the "silent majority" is just a widely diverse group of play testers, including gamers who may not even play XIV with any great frequency. But that's just my speculation. We can't really know so indeed, it's pointless to indulge. We have to act based on what we know now and what we can control now.

Considering the backlash in the forums around the removal of healer actions in ShB, I doubt healers asked for anything. Same as Kaiten. Did SAM mains want Kaiten removed? Did SCH ask for Energy Drain getting removed? Maybe reworked, maybe numbers tweaked or giving dps tools better usability. But I sincerely doubt anybody wanted their kits pruned like they were in ShB

I don't necessarily disagree with thinking that, I am not sure what they do. If they do use data to support their direction, what does it actually surmount to? Which is exactly why they need to be transparent on how they go about implementation to circumvent the negative feedback so the players know why they are making said decisions. Hopefully, moving forward they will improve in that regard, but honestly I am not so sure.

1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.

I have been playing since 2014 and know the classes all go through changes. I even know that the devs just seemingly can't balance healers. I even know that since shadowbringers that classes been dumbed down.

I still can't wrap my head around this strike. This game don't pay you a living wage and you have freedom to play any class you want. Not to mention none of you have even played dawntrail yet to see if the changes even make sense. I mean is your hopes that they spend the next 13 days reverting changes and possibly pushing back launch date cause you don't agree with the changes?

Then the whining would be from the rest about a delay because a handful decided to "strike" based on info they seen and not even tried. How do you think healers will be perceived after that.

Not to mention, you do "strike" and enterprising players will be making a killing on gil selling healer queues.

I also think there are a lot of those who are not satisfied with the situation, but won't say anything. There has already been a few players in this thread who come just to say they agree. Even some of the content creators say they agree but won't join. Not to meantion all those who have played healer before and gave up when they weren't heard before.

I hope we can keep this thead alive through the whole expansion. If the situation changes with/during the expansion, the need for this can always be re-evaluated.

It's all been downhill for every job and role ever since they nixxed Heavy Thrust from Dragoon and then explained their rationale.

Their rationale was, "Well, we looked at the data of inputs, and found that the majority of players were not only not re-applying Heavy Thrust for increased damage, they weren't using it at all!"

So they removed it from the game.

You can go back in time and look at the alterations to Healer DPS kits and find basically the same situation. Same with other jobs/roles skills as well. This means they build the rotations for the people who refuse to play decently, rather than for the people who want to play well.

    Example: Scholar

Scholar used to have Bane, Shadowflare, Miasma II, Ice II, and multiple DOTs. The spell Shadowflare used to be a standard 2.5 second cast, 30 second duration field AOE that inflicted a 5% Slow.

It stayed the same from ARR into HW. Then in StB they changed it to a 15 second duration oGCD on a 60 second cooldown. Then in SHB they removed it entirely.

Miasma II was originally a low powered DoT with an auxiliary debuff effect. It was altered in StB to be a high powered, high MP cost AOE hit with a low power DOT. In SHB it was removed in favor of them adding Art of War.

Multiple DoTs were the Arcanist stand bys, shared between SMN and SCH of Bio, Miasma, and Bio II (and at one point, Thunder). They stayed the same until SHB where Bios were compiled and Miasma was deleted from Scholar's hotbars. They gained Biolysis and followed along with every other healers having a single, solitary DoT. But no Bane any longer to spread it with, losing them another AoE.

Ice II was lost when Role skills were added.

Suffice it to say, Scholar used to have 8 damage buttons to press with about half of them being AOE. It now has one AOE, one DoT, and one single target spell. So it went from rotating through about 4~5 different spells all throughout the course of a fight to just spamming 1 button and pressing the second every 30 seconds.

And remember, it was only public outcry that continues to let them have Energy Drain, but on average that button is better served by using the oGCD heals.

Shoulda drawn the line in the sand a long time ago. I feel like the strike's a little too late, but I guess it's better late than never.

I do adore Yoshi but don't get me wrong when I say this.. it's also my opinion.

I think we're getting all basically getting the same kits because their team is so small and i think (in my opinion) they are basing it from arguments in duty's.

Their GM team cannot handle the influx of it all (that they implemented by their own TOS) - so they are making it easier stop arguments and lessen reports.

Again, just my own thoughts since SHB because they haven't stuck to their principles since they rebuilt 1.0 into 2.0 let's be honest.

I think they are so under budgetted by SE as a whole. (As an avid FF fan since Mystic Quest, I've seen some change)

There is a slide of it somewhere in this thread of what they promised and I'm sure player feedback was one of the points.

They need to let go of the silly same rhythm they have each expansion (so many dungeons etc trials, ex in an expansion) the formula does work but ppl are getting annoyed with all the jobs been just the same with different effects. E.G eaten removal etc.

I do have the survey about what we would like to see and I did vote for criterion, it's somewhere in my email.

We need more of player feedback from all of the playerbase and less of this as a whole or come 8.0 we will all have pvp rotations.
