I don't think the issue is with healers, but boss design. Bosses give you too much time to recover and prepare.

Let's take P8S Part 1 as an example. Between the last post-Flameviper Autos, and the next problematic amount of damage, you're getting at least 20 seconds at absolute minimum, which is more than enough time for even your average healer pair to get everyone topped off and shielded, especially with the powerful healing tools they have. If anything, it also contributes to door bosses feeling bloated in terms of length.

If mechanics were more condensed, then healers wouldn't have the time to spam Glare for 8 GCD's in a row, and thus fights would feel 'busier' and less boring as a result.

I absolutely agree with this point. That's the primary issue. With small tweaks, I do think this could solve A LOT of healer gripes.

There's truth here, compare the speed at which Criterion bosses go through their actions to Savage Raid bosses and you'll see why I vastly preferred Criterion in EW. But at the same time, we cleared Another Sil'dihn without healers.

Also, if we only address boss design we neglect that the job is the thing you're always playing, from Savage to solo duties, dungeon trash, and even out and about in the world.

So, I don't think we should try to point fingers at them and get on their cases. It's not their fault and we shouldn't try to push so hard on their side of things because it does make English speakers come off as 'beligerent'.
JP already voiced their opinions and find no issues with the current iteration of healers since it's their way to "relax", as such, I believe it's time to stop going over to JP forums and attempt to have them join this cause. Pushing it further is already making some folks there extremely angry because machine translation fails to contextualize the politeness and kindness in their language and ultimately will create a wider gap than there already is.

I agree. Support from JP would have been nice, but the non-JP player base is larger than JP and we can spread awareness without them too. Yoshi-P watches western content creators and reads western platforms.

Don't let the people opposed to the strike intimidate you with lies about having to post in Japanese to be heard. Their interests involve creating conflict, reducing our confidence by telling us we're doing it wrong and distracting us with unnecessary tasks like learning to post in a different region's forum. No. We don't need to join arguments and make justifications. We're not playing healers and that's it. The reasons are written plainly on the first page.

On the other hand, I feel you guys are right that the system is inadequate to keep veteran players happy.

How exactly to do this is not clear to me, and this discussion is unlikely to be active in the JP forum, I think.
Anyway, I just hope your voices will be heard by CBU3 and YoshiP.
I'm glad our thoughts reached you. There are many ways for CBU3 to make the people who currently enjoy healer and those that currently do not or did in the past happy. They are a talented team, and I'm sure they can devise a solution.

On the otherhand. This is a problem that we have felt has persisted for far to long and would like to see these plans moved forward at a faster rate.

    Hey, here's an idea:
Maybe you should be trying to communicate with the one JP player who is willing to come here and persuade them to help you formulate a well-worded post in japanese that won't come across as overly antagonistic to that side of the forum?

Or facilitate dialogue in some other way instead of... Whatever you're doing here now?
    I dunno, just a thought.

For real this time, how did you go from their original quote to this conclusion?

"After all: racist, sexist, homophobic, and antisemitic opinions (among others) have been consistently repeated for well over a thousand years. Are you suggesting that as a result, all those opinions should be respected ?
Is that really the company you want to keep? "

This is such a stretch and it's clear that this wasn't implied by the comment at all... o__o

while i find current healer bit lacking (and extremely boring in most normal contents), i also find this last few pages real hard to not chuckle

hm, yes, lets call other side of culture "very little backbone", i'm sure your opinion will be taken seriously... lets not forget to go to jp forum and act like their opinion is wrong as well while at it
(of course, there is a few polite bunches, but you know what i mean)

and no, your translator is not broken, it's likely just your wording
