If you wanna play healer play healer if you don't enjoy it anymore don't play it simple as that. I'll agree we would benefit from more consistent unavoidable damage but this is an interesting way of going about it, but this is silly imo.

So, yes, you can strike, you can get tank healing to be almost zero...
But in return you, the healer, will have to GCD heal way more often than rely on oGCDs.
Also can't wait for the next cinematic to release to completely dissolve any form of strike.
Are you saying that because tanks would lose most of their sustain, that healers would need to GCD heal more often because their OGCDs would not be able to pick up the slack from the missing tank sustain on their own? Because if that's the case, I don't really agree. Healers have an over abundance of OGCD heals right now. You might need a bit more healing in Savage, but I don't know if "way more often" would be accurate.
Or are you saying that in exchange for tanks losing most of their sustain, that healers would need to lose some of their cooldowns, or have their OGCD healing drastically reduced or weakened in some way? Because if that's the case then yes, that's exactly one of the points being asked for.
Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.
This is a novel idea, Just DON'T play healer! I think someone should make a thread about it and try to get others on board with that idea, so SE might take notice of less healers playing and consider feedback, maybe add a nice catchy hashtag to get people feeling it, maybe a discord to build some sense of comradery about it? I really wish some people would do that...
I would love to have to GCD heal more.
I'm not really understanding the apathy toward the healer situation. Unbalanced tanks ruin the game for everyone, every dungeon run. A bad healer ruins the run some of the time for some people, and it's unclear if any particular job or encounter design even affects those players positively or negatively. It's just that simple. Getting the message out here could inspire someone on Twitter to talk about it, or perhaps even someone with more influence.Again, that's less than a single percentage point of the player base, not even 0.04%, it's popular on here because there probably isn't even a thousand people browsing the NA forums.
More like Twitter had something to do with that, considering that platform is far more vocal and wider reaching than here, they probably just called it forum feedback to make it sound like they were listening to the forums.
And if you don't think it's a problem then please inform your dear leader who makes YouTube videos for a living laughing the problem up as the joke that it is. I'd laugh too if I thought dev incompetence was funny.
At least Xenosys gets paid and he doesn't even defend the game. Forum users seemingly do it without compensation for no reason??? This is a well agreed upon problem.
And just to be ultra clear-- yes there are edge cases of tanks and healers who can't get it together even as things are now. Yet time has shown dumbing down the game hasn't made those players disappear. It's almost like certain people are just going to play non optimally or badly no matter what. So make the roles engaging and balanced.

Not to sound rude or try to offend anyone, but your pathetic little 'healer strike' isn't going to do anything aside from be a minor annoyance to players. As has been discussed in this thread:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...thout-healers.
I would like to make this the official thread for those in support of a healer strike as a collective voice to the dev team to express the dissatisfaction with the continued direction the game has gone concerning healer gameplay and what is an arrived consensus that has deemed to be a negligence towards the role, as well as the players who main it.
Yes, it's agreeable that class balance is an issue. Discussions can be had, etc.
Yes, some classes seem like they have too much self-sustain (or more than they really need), but that's part of the previous point.
But a strike??? This isn't going to work. I laughed when I heard about this, because it's just not going to work. It's a big game, and the majority of players (who are Japanese) likely aren't going to participate in something that only EN-speaking Westerners seem to care about.
Do you expect Japanese, German, or French-speaking players to partake in this??? The endgame raider community isn't so tight-knit that everyone who does it pays attention to what talking heads on Twitch, Reddit, etc. This is a big game that spans across multiple platforms and communities, most of whom don't even bother with the forum.
Also, this isn't your game. If Japanese players were upset about this, then there'd be some merit, since it's their game and it's they who are the primary audience, but a literal handful of Redditors LARPing like this is an Amazon fulfillment center isn't going to do anything to persuade SE to make what are core gameplay adjustments.
Know your place and enjoy the game.
