I actually like XIV healers specifically because every job in this game is expected to contribute to DPS in significant ways, no matter the role. Which is why I loved Cleric Stance stance dancing because it added some complexity without the need of many different DPS buttons and still made every fight and healing with another healer extremely unique and dynamic in DF/PF. Since that won't be coming back, having more complex DPS rotations for this game's healing philosophies makes more sense. I think the people who just want to be heal slaves and do nothing else are a minority, which is good because doing more damage is more fun.
Exactly, healers being accomplished casters in their own right (hell they literally compete for the top spots in AOE damage) is good design; I don’t want to be a heal slave for the DPS main characters

The problem comes from how boring the damage profile is on modern healers, I’m fine still only doing about 50-60% of the damage of the true DPS, but I’d like to achieve that in a more interesting way than spamming broil
