I mean doesn't it also have to take into account that yeah WoW came out in 2004 true and its an 80m registered difference between the two..however there is something else you can bring into this. The MMO market back then was massively different to when 14 came out and that is fact. WoW was ahead of the curb at the time of its release and for a good while, it made sense it dominated in registration numbers for the longest time and only in the last 7-10 years have we seen that trend completely plateau with new competition etc.

There are other factors like people who played now becoming late 30s or early 40s and wanting to move on, or growing disinterested, burned by 3 bad expansions back to back to now get a semi decent one because blizzard screwed the pooch too many times. There are a lot of variables, heck in FF14 will go through a similar situation with its players and EW feeling like the closure a lot of players wanted and that is fair.

There are many users here who have blind disdain for the game currently and that's fine, its opinions at the end of the day just let the haters malt a bit because end of the day if you love the game or you want to support it, its still going to be there for you.
