That why people don't like locked emotes, etc. In a game where you're supposed to define your character, why are we arbitrarily limited to a handful of options? Especially when the developers only have finite resources. Some people have suggested just making more exclusive poses, but I feel like that's such a waste. The developers go through the effort of making 50 poses, maybe 5 of which are perfect for your character, but you can't have them because reasons and instead get 5 poses that mean absolutely nothing to you. Just give us all 50 and let us choose what's best.

It's funny how on point this is. This is the crux of the entire thread. That people vary on an individual basis, yet in game this sometimes isn't captured because of locked content.

Video games as a whole are unnecessary in the first place. This isn't about need as much as it is wanting a better game. I feel like if players are being given the choice to create their characters, we shouldn't have to deal with arbitrary limits. Male and female range of motion is nearly identical. It makes gendered emotes just seem weird.
Because the developers intend each race/gender to be portrayed as a certain way and that's the main draw for people pick those races/genders. A small outlier of people wanting their character to go against those norms isn't justification enough to open up all emotes to everyone.
