Well, it is easier to shovel it on your customers because they're paying you to play the game. Saves you money, and you can just tune out the criticism. Win/win in their eyes.It honestly feels like they are ignoring criticism out of pettiness now because they are offended the feedback for SAM wasn't professionally nice like you'd receive from paid QA testers... which it won't be if you instead use paying customers to test your game. Who'd thunk.
I think the reason they got rid of Kaiten now that I went back to playing samurai a bit is that samurai does juggle a lot of knobs in a tight package. The idea is to keep up two different buffs via combo rotation while managing the energy meter through the OGCD attacks. Taking out Kaiten mostly just makes it easier to execute the Midare Setsugekka bit. The part that is really weird is how they made Tenka Goken a circle aoe and left Fuga a cone. Considering they turned overpower into a circle on warrior it really seems like an odd omission.
But we just do shinten before midare now....nothing changed in that regard. Ya'll keep trying to come up with these conclusions, but none of them have any logic behind it.I think the reason they got rid of Kaiten now that I went back to playing samurai a bit is that samurai does juggle a lot of knobs in a tight package. I wasn't trying to make a point on the merit of gameplay. The changes seem to be to cut down on how complex the jobs are for the purpose of supporting and balancing the damage out. The problem is that the game is over 10 years old if we consider 1.0 part of it, and the amount of features and content in the game that has to be supported is massive. Logistically, if they have to hire more developers to maintain the game due to job growth they are going to make less profit per month, and software engineers are expensive friends to have. So the only option that is left is to make simpler jobs to deal with so that the same team can handle more of them. It's the only thing that makes sense given the direction of summoner and the changes done to the samurai.
So to make more money... they need to make the game worse... I see that's .... lets go with thatI wasn't trying to make a point on the merit of gameplay. That might be the dumbest thing I've read in this thread for awhile.I wasn't trying to make a point on the merit of gameplay. Sure would be nice of we had emojis to use as reactions. Some of these messages got me busting up a gut laughing.
So much this. If they don't revert this stuff soon, or even talk about reverting it so we know they know it's a problem and they're willing to fix it, I think I'll just quit the game. Is that professional enough, or do I have to include an apology letter when I unsubscribe and thank them for the privilege of allowing me to pay them to test their ill-conceived incremental job redesigns? It honestly feels like they are ignoring criticism out of pettiness now because they are offended the feedback for SAM wasn't professionally nice like you'd receive from paid QA testers... which it won't be if you instead use paying customers to test your game. I only just started maining Samurai this expac, and ever since these changes it just feels like I'm playing a less fun version of the class I just picked up. My numbers are consistent but seeing smaller numbers than I did before on my big moves makes me sad. I miss Kaiten's cool animation and I miss the really big, if inconsistent, crits. Overall I just feel unhappy playing this class now
