It may be simple, but I would like to see this as the new job-icon.
No "mouth", no holes. Sorry for the bad quality. Made it quick in gimp.

I didn't say it was a slippery slope; I said it's so ridiculous that it sounds like an absurdist slippery slope argument someone would make against inclusiveness in gaming.
Example: "Removing flashing lights in an encounter to make it better for epileptics?!? What's next... altering/limiting stylized designs based on the fact that some people don't like bumpy textures?!?"
Addition of male miqote and femroe was something a majority of the playerbase was in agreement with. That isnt comparable to the minority of people who were raving about male viera needing to be shorter than the females, trying to compare it to real life and how they need to make sense because of real life rabbits, where even Matsuno himself said it doesnt make sense to argue that, they should be the same height.

Matsuno also said he had nothing at all to do with the inclusion of male viera.Addition of male miqote and femroe was something a majority of the playerbase was in agreement with. It was not a majority. You can go through the archived xiv forums or dig through ancient 3rd party forums and see the exact same x is waste of time/breaks established lore replies that were regularly posted in the male viera thread lol.Addition of male miqote and femroe was something a majority of the playerbase was in agreement with. It cost them barely any time, and we're all going to forget about it in a week or two anyway, so I don't see what the problem is.Changing logos to accommodate people who don't like bumps sounds like some kind of absurdist slippery slope argument someone would make about how rampant forced inclusiveness in gaming is creatively stifling. This is kind of a ridiculous thing to address, and a ridiculous door to open.
My guess is... *puts on tinfoil hat* a handful of people were triggered by it but the larger group used it as excuse to have the icon changed. I'm personally not a fan of either, or Reaper's for that matterm but ehh, they're tiny and never see them until/unless changing jobs or looking at a profile anywaysThis sets a dangerous precedent. Coral clusters are present in-game and have many clusters of tiny holes. Will they be removed from the game? If so, why? If not, why?
Perhaps this is yet another example as to why our community representatives need to be present and active on this forum. We really need to know what feedback, exactly, they are passing along to the development team. I didn't see a single comment about people being 'scared' of the Sage icon and I'm pretty active across a number of sites related to discussion of FFXIV.
Some people have a phobia of deep water. Will swimming be removed from the game?
Some people have a phobia of spiders. Will spider enemies be removed from the game?
Some people have a phobia of heights. Will flying and tall structures be removed from the game?
I hope not and I doubt that they will in any of those cases - which makes the reasoning behind the icon's change utterly and totally bizarre.
It's not a problem for me, but I don't see the benefit to SE here.
This is basically SE announcing that they'll listen to and act on any nitpicky nonsense the community can come up with, no matter how trivial. Listening to the community is important, but so is setting boundaries.

That doesn't even make sense, a slippery slope argument would be about leading to bigger or more expansive things, not smaller insignificant things.I didn't say it was a slippery slope; I said it's so ridiculous that it sounds like an absurdist slippery slope argument someone would make against inclusiveness in gaming.
