Josh Strife Hayes did a really nice video on why hardcore PvP MMOs don't satisfy most people ... after a few months. Don't have much hope for Ashes either TBH

I often disagree with JSH when he does his video opinion pieces like this but I don't have a single bone of contention with this one, I think he is spot on.

Earlier in this thread I was told, several times that I either don't understand PvP, or am in some way frightened of it, I didn't respond, because it was irrelevant but I did laugh. I've played CoD since Modern Warfare and have an above average K/D, I've played many racing games online and love RTS games like Warhammer and Command and Conquer. I have no problem with PvP in controlled environments like it is here in FFXIV.

Open world PvP, forced onto a player base that didn't want it is an entirely different animal, PvP is fun when it's fair, by the very nature of MMO's in the open world it will never be fair.
