Healers Angry when PLD Clemencies

Only until PLD learns Holy Circle. Holy is more potency per second than T.Eclipse+Prominence but Holy Circle Spam beats Holy by a wiiiiide margin.

Holy 140p x 1.3 (M&M2) / 2.5s ≈ 72.8 p/s
(T.Eclipse 120p + Prominence 220p) / 5.0s ≈ 68 p/s

Requiescat 550p + 5 x 1.5 (Req.) x H.Circle 250p / 5 / 2.5s = 194 p/s
Requiescat 550p + 4 x 1.5 (Req.) x H.Circle 250p + 1.5 x Confiteor 800p / 5 / 2.5s = 260 p/s


Addendum:
Auto-attacks stop while casting Clemency, so the DPS lost is greater than the combo power of 68 p/s, which means Prominence Combo is more DPS than Holy spam at any level.

This is highly innaccurate, you cannot compare tank potency to any other class in the game as they have their own stat scaling formula which gives you less damage per point of main stat versus all the other classes. This is why tank potencies despite being so high, do much less than other classes.

I still don't think youre making a fair comparison, you're comparing plds burst phase, including an off global(which you should realistically remove cos off globals arnt competing for casts, or at least if you are to compare them charitably include assize), to WHMs standard spam. An added comparison with whm subbing in a misery would be a bit more charitable of a comparison.

Honestly this is a complete non issue in the first place because realistically there should never be a situation where youre having to compare the two cos I cant even remember the last time ive had to gcd heal a tank with anything other than a lily, dungeon content is so undertuned that even trying to argue about potency saves between a healer healing and a tank healing is a total meme as anyone remotely competent keeps both people with 100% damage uptime.

I'm not the one that brought up potencies/DPSvalues. I was just replying to someone else who said they'd rather the PLD uses Clemency so that they can spam more Holy because "Holy does more damage".
I merely qualified their statement, "only until PLD learns Holy Circle".

It's a fair comparison because

• if we're talking about using Clemency after learning Holy Circle (I am), then we're absolutely talking about a lost Holy Circle, not a lost Total Eclipse
• Requiescat is on a 60s cooldown, low enough that it is usable at least once in every trash pull
• Holy Circle's boosted potency is only available under the effect of Requiescat, so it's appropriate to include Requiescat at the start of the calculation
• WHM's oGCD attacks do not affect Holy
