Most people from what I can tell in the thread who are in disagreement seem to be rather polite, and accepting of different view points or ideas. The ones who are dismissive of other view points or ideas are those in favor of male bun bun. Any idea or suggestion that goes against the overall acceptably norm of a good looking character gets down fairly quickly.

In the end yeah an echo chamber is not inherently wrong or good. Though when others try to establish an echo chamber on a public forum that is when things get a tad murky for me personally. If this was a private group cool, but it is a public forum everyone has a right to post in agreement or not, People are free to talk about it, and by no means was my comment meant to dismissive of those who have strong feelings towards male viera, though let us be fair in the same vain as those in favor are free to talk about it, those who are against it or have a different preferred look for male viera should be free to do so without being considered as a troll or someone simply out to ruin the fun of others.
We can agree on the inherentness here. But defensiveness and disagreement are just the norms of conversation. Extremes and mass reporting for simple defense and disagreement is when we can go ahead and call this xiv's echo chamber of the 2 years to be continued. I think at this thread length, it's hard to truly see who is being polite and whatnot. I have the feeling that you and I have a bias and and on that basis are already subject to confirmation bias in regards to the attitudes here. I believe the only objections I've seen, major ones, is in relation to those who wanted smol/child-like/lala ? I honestly wouldn't know, I read a few pages here and there but I'm no avid follower of this thread. But at the end of it all, I think we can both say though that it's not that spicy hot ramen mess that it was before.

You're right on that last note. But, considering that this is a public forum and text-based one at that . . . I think the defensiveness comes from having to interpret things without other senses to rely on. Sigh, what can one do.
