I think it's worth mentioning specifically to those against male Viera due to "lore" need to remember that in said lore there is only one Warrior of Light. Yes in game we see many players milling about who are all the Warrior of Light. However as far as the actual lore and story goes there is currently only one Warrior of Light. They are truly unique to the world. A very special exemption that Hydaelyn herself created to be her champion. The Warrior of Light is by far the rarest and most unique exception within the games lore and as such it is very plausible for Hydaelyn to have chosen a male Viera to receive her blessing that leads him to where he would be in the story when said gender becomes available.

To claim "lore reasons" for the reason to be against the inclusion of missing genders is simply a fallacy. A one that lacks any kind of legitimate logic or reasoning. "Lore" is not quantifiable. "Lore" is meaningless. An argument for or against the inclusion of a particular element in a game has to be something that can be reasoned out via quantifiable measures in order for it to actually have any weight behind it. For example a valid reason why the missing genders may never be included is because the devs don't think it's something worth investing time and resources into. Time and resources being the quantifiable components here.
