You're really stretching with this one, but that's about on point. When you have a thread with the same 15 people posting on it every day, then it gets the appearance of "biggest thread", sure. In perspective of the actual player base, this thread is the minority. It's not necessarily in "incredibly high demand", it's just a thread that's had repeat arguments and conversations with the same 10 to 15 people for the past two years.

I just went back to around page 1300 which is 27 pages for me. Within these 27 pages I already counted over 15 people that are quite new. Which means that if we have 15 people who are constantly posting (which is not even that small either) we would have at least 30 people posting in this on the last few pages.

Of course not all of those nearly 2k people that liked the OP have created a post but if we would truly go through these many pages we will surely find a huge amount of unique posters. And with the regular posters that are at least still somewhat on topic, this thread will stay active and generate more views for all of those people that might come later who in turn can post their opinion. And it will also keep the discussion to this very thread too (hopefully).

Just because I said it was an echo chamber does not not mean I am dismissive of the thread. It is just not as impressive of a feat like some are trying to make it out to be. That is my point Alleo, you are using your own interpretation to view what I said in a negative way. Also my comment was not rejecting this was a large thread per-se I was just being a tad more specific as to why the thread has gotten so large. Granted if this thread got this large with unique discussion that would have been a more impressive feat on my opinion.

In the end this thread is exactly what an echo chamber refers to situations in which beliefs are amplified or reinforced by communication and repetition inside a closed system and insulated from rebuttal.

Also I do not think I have ever said everyone who is in favor is x or everyone who is against is y. Once again that is you putting your own interpretation on what was said. Though let us be real in past how quick did the thread go into a dumpster fire territory when people bought up differing body times like a younger version, fat, small. By some the idea is shot down or viewed as a joke. In tge strictest sense that is being dismissive.

Though once again an echo chamber is not inherently a good or bad thing. I know the media like to spin it like it is a bad thing. In the end it neutral and the context and intent are what matter when we determine the goodness and wrongness of the action. Not like this is an echo chamber full of holocaust deniers. This is just a thread regarding a playable race in a video game.

Also, if they made male viera pretty boyish I am willing to bet it would be one the more popular races. Now if they made them fat and small or just a manlet I do not think that would fly as much from a general acceptance route.Which saddens me.

I'm not surprised at the content of the answer but I'm surprised he actually answered that with something more than "We'll look into it". That project is massive, it will take years to finish and there's no clue how long they have or haven't been working on it. My guess is we might start hearing more info on it leading up to 8.0; 7.0 seems too early for that.

I think 7.0 is possible in all honesty, depending on the scale and nature - it's effectively still close on 3 years away. These projects are a possible reason as to why they are constantly resource-stretched as of late, but provided they are actually going to do this, it's good news and I'm happy to see they're investing in the game's future in that way.

There are a large number of people who will come in here and throw their voices in for the desire for the genders but don’t necessarily stay to participate in the debates in the thread. Doesn’t mean their voices don’t count even in the people involved in the arguments and debates are the majority.

There are also those of us who still support the topic, but post less in it because it keeps going back to the same debates over and over and it gets tiring.

IMO male vieras could be better proportioned elezen, just like female viera are better proportioned female elezen. elves normally are one of the more popular races in any mmo, due to ff14‘s version having weird proportions (small head, elongated neck) and animations i think male viera as a tall/handsome race could surpass them easily and climb up as one of the more popular races if done right.

I dont post often but I think Male Viera would be very nice. A cash cow for sure, with how many people would fanta to try it-as it is, people are fanta'ing every other day anyway. Another option to fanta to just means more income. I don't see a downside other than possibly ugly faces.

My plea is yes please add Male Viera but please no ugly faces on it. Usually all the races have like 1 good face, all other 3 are ugly. Do not make him ugly, men are hard to find attractive as it is. Also give him a bunny tail. And make him handsome. But NOT bulky looking. No one wants wrestlemania hulkamania bunny man. Consult a group of women before releasing it, if they all call him ugly then start over. Have them wear a lie detector to be sure they arent just saying he's handsome to be nice. Tall, but not a twig like an Elezen but not a walking bolder like a Roe. Something inbetween an Aura and Miqote body type. But unlike Aura males NO ugly faces. Thank you.

bunny tail seems an odd requirement to me since historically viera dont have tails (and sure we never see males to it totally could, but would be an odd thing to have as a sexually dimorphic trait i think). the racial gear based on fran (FF12) has a pseudo-tail for aesthetic reasons, but little if any gear for them from across the ivalice games does otherwise. iirc them having the ears is mostly due to/to enable hearing The Wood's will and other sensory stuff (sensitivity to mist, etc)
